Great that weatherfax_pi is being picked up and tested by the OSX group.. there is no doubt this plugin is an essential tool.

This thread was originally intended for notification when any of his plugins were updated and where to download the Windows beta version.

Threads for all of Sean's plugins are here:

Since we will be testing all of these plugins for the OpenCPN 4.1.602 upgrades it might be a good idea to post results/questions etc into these threads (and bug reports into Tracker) so things don't get too confused.

Thanks.
Thanks for the recap and for the progress on some plugins. However, for Mac OS X users, it's still very complicated to find the latest builds of the plugins. I managed to find Weatherfax v1.4001 thanks to ptulp's repository, bu waht about the rest ? I don't know who to ask, but could it be possible to post the plugins on the OpenCPN plugin page ? It would really make it far simpler and logical...

b-i...
Once they are stable enough on OS X, they will be on the download page. That they are stable enough I need to hear from you though.

Re: Sean Depagnier's Plugins

Some of Sean's plugins have been updated for Opencpn Beta 4.1.1108 (and earlier) and are found here

Opencpn Beta Win File Thingie rguser rgpass

Look in directory 4.1.1108 PI Win
You will find files for
Watchdog
Weatherfax

And under 4.1.925 PI Win directory
Weather_routing_pi

I have not fully tested these builds, but have opened them and used them.

Under 4.1.1022 PIWin
You will find
DR_pi (very early beta)
Goodharbor
oBabel

PS: Sean was there something else that needed compiling due to recent changes? Thanks. Can't keeep up sometimes.

Re: Sean Depagnier's Plugins

It is renamed from trimplot_pi and updated considerably now. I use it all the time on passage now.

Thanks Sean, I should have checked. I will be able to compile and upload in three days, maybe before.

Re: Sean Depagnier's Plugins

Sean..
Please, for Watchman; In Windows the "NewAlarmDialog" appears like the attached shot. I think it's better, e.g. distinct rows, in Linux.
Could you make the "m_lAlarmType" list to appear in one column instead of all in one row?
(I've tried but failed.)

Thanks
Håkan

I have a bunch of voice warning .wav files for OpenCPN that might be useful to others. Perhaps your "Thingie" would be a good place to share them ?
JM.
JM Yes I can certainly host them. Please upload to the upload directory by using
Opencpn Beta File Thingie upload, uploadpass

Re: Sean Depagnier's Plugins

Sean, I am having problems with watchdog alarms sounding.
Posted under ISSUES
  1. Deadman and boundary alarms set.
  2. File used set to 2bells.wav.
  3. Right click on 2bells.way and "Play" Sound words. Also turned on in taskbar.
  4. Have portaudio_x86.dll in Opencpn main directory and Plugins directory.
  5. When using Watchdog_pi (most recent version) and testing Deadman and Boundary alarms there is no sound!
  6. There is NO WAY to test the alarm bells selected anymore. The TEST button has been removed.
  7. What is the problem? Are additional files needed in the compile? The readme does not indicate any other files are needed other than opencpn.lib.

Does anyone else using windows have this problem?

Re: Sean Depagnier's Plugins

Sean, with regard to "Projections_pi" How is it intended to work?
I have tried to find the other map types by selection of something other than mercator in the right click projections and the check just goes back to mercator.

I have tried to find a different type of chart by setting all charts and then from the piano keys select a different type of chart to see what happens... there does not seem to be a change. For example the big polyconic great lakes 14500_kap , there is no "Polyconic" selection. and when that is chart is highlighted there are no checks in the projections.

Does this plugin just react to the currently draw chart and put a check by the type of chart? A little more explanation for how this is used would be helpful. Thank you.

Re: Sean Depagnier's Plugins

Chartslider showed up after I made the transparency setting right by sliding it to the left for less transparancy. It works for RNC ENC and CM93

Re: Sean Depagnier's Plugins

Rick,

For the first two plugins, I think you need to compile latest git, and copy the opencpn.lib file to resolve the unresolved externals.

I forget why I removed the test button. I think it was extra work but I should try to add it back.

No additional files. Do other sounds work from opencpn?

Basically, it is very simple. When enabled, you can select the projection to use with the context menu. The chart type doesn't matter here since now polyconic charts are shown in mercator (or whatever projection is set)

It does require opengl to be enabled.

So... if you delete the plugin and all its data and reinstall then the slider is invisible initially with the default transparency setting?
