Re: Sean Depagnier's Plugins
Gille... Trimplot uses wind and speed data to advise how effectively you are sailing. To test it you can use run the VDR plugin and play a Nema file. There are some of those on the Opencpn File Thingie rguser, rgpass under Nema, try running Hartmut-Netherlands Meerkermeer Wind AIS file. I have not completely figured it out.

Note you will need to copy appropriate opencpn.lib file into the build directory.
cd watchdog_pi
mkdir build
cd build
cmake ..
cmake --build . Builds debug version
cmake --build . --config release
====
Once you have installed NSIS Install program in accord with opencpn.org Dev Manual you can build package installers.
at the Build folder type "cpack" and find the exe in a folder like this
C:\o-plugin\climatology_pi\build\_CPack_Packages\win32\ NSIS
You can then execute the exe with one click and then browse to your release instal folder.
Then remove the "/OPENCPN" that is automatically added.

I tried the file you specify. Nothing happens. ???? The boat does not move.
It might be the same road and have to activate this route??
In any case, in the absence of explanation on the operation of this plugin, I wonder whether it is reasonable to put it online.

Re: Sean Depagnier's Plugins
Hello Sean,
Installation of Climatology in O 331731:
The installation seems to work. But in reality, the package does not contain the necessary data.
During the test, O 331731 was completely blocked after displaying a long list of missing data files.
Finally, O crashed when I tried to close it.
Best regards. Gilletarom.

Re: Sean Depagnier's Plugins
Hello Sean,
On Climatology:
I installed manually, all data files that I had in stock in my machine for a long time. And this time, things went well. O was not blocked.
However, I miss some of the data, ie data about lightning, I have not.

Re: Sean Depagnier's Plugins
Helle Sean,
Weather_routing on:
An anomaly is shown during installation. See attached screenshot.
I let him continue the installation by clicking on "Ignorer" (Ignore).
It seems that everything is installed properly despite the anomaly

The files have been renamed in 3.3.1731 folder on Opencpn Beta File Thingie rguser rgpass. Also climatology exe is now 5.3 mb and contains the necessary data files. Please try it.

It is somewhat experimental, but it works. I need to understand what the significance of "Speed vs Position" and "Speed percentage vs Straight Course" is. Also are higher numbers better or worse? Somehow I think this should be measured against a waypoint or destination, but I don't know what Sean was doing here to be honest.
I can make it run however. I just found a 30mb "Harmut-Netherlands-Markermeer-Wind-AIS.txt" file that was corrupted and deleted it, but that one is not on the Opencpn Beta File Thingie. The ZIP file on Opencpn Beta File Thingie under Nmea folder is "Harmut-Netherlands-Markermeer-Wind-AIS.nmea". I agree this file does not run with VDR, however it does run well under NavMonPC on a virtual port with a Com setting, Then start playing it at a high speed, then set up a Com connection in Opencpn. The picture attached shows this playing. You may want to change the suffix from nmea to txt because Navmonpc likes that better.
There is another file you can use with the simpler VDR setup which works with Trimplot too. That is "Konni-Wind-AIS.nmea". both are in the Beta download site ZIPPED. I attach a pic of that running with TrimPlot too.
If you can figure out what the significance is, I would appreciate knowing. Perhaps we can then write something more descriptive up.

Gille.. I think this has to do with the actual installation. The Installer was having trouble writing some files, a timer limit came up which initiated the message, but the file was written successfully, as you found out. ..Not sure about that but thats what I think it is. Does not happen with mine yet.

Re: Sean Depagnier's Plugins
Hello Sean and RGleason,
Before re-install Climatology, I un-install it with the un-installer.
The un-installer un-install the dll file but it do not un-install the data file and data folder.

Good point, don't know how to fix this or if we need to. Try just installing over the data. If that does not work try removing the data directory. Let us know which works best.
