That reminds me of something that happened on my first sub. Jerry and I were both ETs and good friends, he had a pretty wacky sense of humor, you couldn't tell if he was serious or joking with you.

One evening we were eating dinner in crew's mess and another guy came over to talk to us and sat next to Jerry. Jerry was eating fries and the guy snagged one. Jerry very quietly said, "Don't touch my fries." The guy acted like he didn't hear him and grabbed a couple more and kept on talking. Jerry again said, "Don't touch my fries."

This time I knew he heard Jerry, but he went for another fry and this time Jerry stabbed him in the back of the hand with a fork and the tines went between the bones and a couple of them almost came out through his palm.

The guy screamed in pain and yelled, "WTF did you stab me for??" Jerry calmly told him, "I told you twice not to touch my fries. I don't know how else to put it. You ignored me and now I got your attention." The guy was still pissed off and said, "You could always go back and get more fries!"

Jerry said, "Those are the last of the fries. If there were more fries, I would have told you to go get your own, instead of stabbing you."

It's a geoblock. Following a link from the cruisersforum page thread html source for a non-showing image shows this message...

I'm still not getting scoldmax memes and I am in SC in the US. I still think it has something to do with Firefox's recent updates and the blocking scripts they use.

Well, obviously, some system admin person at the IP in SC doesn't approve of a certain contributor's sense of humor - or a different sys-admin person at another choke-point thinks that the SC IP needs protection from certain CF contributors.

And comes back with a thought: I've never had problems viewing all of socaldmax's posts. Currently using Chrome browser, Win7. Accesed CF back and forth across the Pacific, from Mexico to New Zealand, with various Win packs, various browsers.


ben2go? Have you tried using a Virtual IP address? That might confirm/deny the geofencing idea and help narrow the troubleshooting options. But hey, I'm like Sgt. Schultz.
