Nothing harsh. I value my time. When I am in a bar bored with my life I hit on a girl next to me.

Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds

This 1986 CS 39 looks to be a very nice boat.
Price is about $25K US ($33.5K Canadian).

Possible downside: you'll have to go to Georgian Bay to see her. Great cruising country.

Also listed on Yachtworld with more and somewhat better pictures:

Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds

And this 1989 Catalina 30 (Tall rig) is for sale for about $20K USD ($26,000 CAD).

The owner claims a lot of very good upgrades. Engine, canvas, sails, electric windlass and head. No significant interior pictures in the ad.

This one is even further than the last one, the North Channel of Manitoulin Island of Lake Huron! These fresh water boats probably age at half the rate of those in Florida. Lightly used and hauled out for winter. Owner doesn't appear to have routinely taken the mast down for winter, but you can't ask for everything at this price...

1985 O'Day 39. $28.5K USD ($37,500 CAD).

In Cobourg Ontario (on north shore of Lake Ontario), somewhat closer to large population centres.

Interior looks OK. Engine looks like a diesel (not sure what type). Electrical is obviously recent. Not many photos and barely any information in ad. I have no idea how to market a boat but I know this isn't helpful to our discriminating audience of buyers :-)

[QUOTE=yalla;2832081]this thread started out very promising but these days you have to paw through dozens of bantering replies to find a single boat.
can't y'all keep the noise to a minimum?

Talk about useless banter.

I'm confused, is it an O'Day or a Jeanneau (see ad)? The ad could win an award for "least possible info". And finally, is the jib furled backwards? I live close, and I'm planning to view the Westerly 32 ($20,000cdn) for sale also in Cobourg.

Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds

The O'Day 39 and 40 were built from the Jeanneau Sun Fizz molds.
Updated interiors and built in the US. Probably something to do with tariffs.

Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds

here is one in CF boats classifieds.
if this ain't an amazin deal I dunno what is...
link is to owners personal website

Dreamtime 33' Morgan OI for sale

15K with an awesome gear list - e.g. ssb(!), davits, dinghy w. outboard, honda 2000i, watermaker(!), excellent ground tackle/windlass, lsz1 sewing machine(!) and on and on.... not to mention the customizations and cleanliness and documentation.

kubota diesel has 3200 hours - if that is an issue for you go ahead and drop 15K on a new engine and you're still at 30K.

truly one of the best deals I have ever seen - assuming she is as seaworthy as she seems.

i'm soooo tempted but we just bought a house
