It is a beautiful boat but way more than $30K, iirc! Sorry, didn't mean to interrupt the thread

As I said before, I don't remember, sorry. A lot, I thought at the time.
That said, the thing is unique, beautiful etc. but it's a very old design (yeah, classic), tiller steering, and there's that mizzen stuck in the cockpit.
People who have that kind of money want different boats around here these days.

Not supposing. The one I mentioned in Halifax with the weird interior was similar price, but 42’ LOD with a weird layout.

Well that's down quite a bit from a year ago. It's a process, imo

Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds
Grampians did not have a great reputation back in the day. They were made using a fiberglass "chopper gun" rather than hand lay-up, and were thought to be cheaply made. Indeed, they were considered a bargain boat.

Thanks for the info. I like the aft cabin design, found on some British built boats... but seem to be rare on most boats under 35 feet.

The 23 is pretty much a free boat around here. You pay for the outboard but you have to take the boat its attached to as well.
You can find a G26 around $1000 cdn most days of the week.
A G26 was abandoned at my marina this past fall. It was easier/cheaper to walk away from the boat than to pay for haulout and winter storage. In late December, the marina finally hauled it out, 2 months after the official haulout date. Its just luck that the boat wasn't frozen into ice for the winter and destroyed...a mild fall. To be clear, its a complete boat, fully rigged, ready to sail, with an outboard. I was intrigued by this boat which sat in the water long after everyone else hauled. I will be interested to see what happens to it in the sping.
The last time I was purchasing a boat, I was quite interested in a well kept G28. That model is nicely finished below and seems to be of slightly higher quality than the rest of the line. I passed on the boat though. About a month later, the seller contacted me to see if I would take the boat for FREE. The diesel would not start. The seller told me he was contacting everyone who had expressed interest, and offering the boat for FREE. I was the 6th person on his list. This means 5 other people also would not accept it, even for free.
I don't know about the larger models of Grampian, like the 30 and 34. But it is not a good pedegree. The main feature of the G boats is....price.

Great info, thanks. I love the aft cabin layout, they are rare in boats of this size.

There's a mast shown in the interior in the pictures. It isn't deck-stepped, surely?

this thread started out very promising but these days you have to paw through dozens of bantering replies to find a single boat.
can't y'all keep the noise to a minimum?
just my contribution to the noise...
