BTW, I searched the forums for marieholm and found this one also for sale, exactly the same model, but with a much higher standard (and price!):

The Marieholm 26's are good tough boats but limited in headroom.. sail well but need a good spray hood n dodgers as they are 'wet boats'.
I would not coast hop.. use it to get some open water experience and head for the Isle of Man.. then across to Ireland.. down to Cork for the jump off to Lands End and Falmouth...
Time of year is important..

I've been on board that Spray, and she's a very beautiful, very solid boat with tons of great features.

Is is still for sale?
The linked post looks like it is in "archive" mode and not in the regular classifieds for sale boats, and I found no way to post this comment in that listing.
I am not in the market for that type of boat myself, but it does look like a very nice condition one of that type.

I'm living 1,916 miles away from her and have used her twice in the past year.... Last time was a couple months ago, filled the water tank, topped off the batteries, and went to the islands for the weekend... One of the fastest transits ever... and she's been there hundreds of times... The pics are more than a year old, and she could use some buffing and cleanup now...
I'll relist her in the regular classifieds for ya to post the link here!

Yes, I suppose that before spring it would be rather unpleasant, if the weather up there is like in Northern Spain (and I suppose it will be significantly worse). Time to think about it... Thanks!

That looks to me to be a bargain. Too bad I'm not in the market.

Because I'd like to encourage every post of a boat in this thread to include a photo of the boat, I will post a photo. Because I think every post should include some basic information about the boat and some comments on it, I will include a few of those too. However, this does not mean I am recommending this boat, I am merely adding content I would like to see others add to the thread/discussion.
I took a look.
Here is a clip from the description of that boat:
"Overall length 70 ft. Register 50 ft deck line, has 8.2 ' draft. Ferro Cement hull and deck. Cement deck. Steel cabins and Steel Wheel House. Lloyd’s ships registered 38.8 ton. NSW registration till April 2016. Air cooled 50hp Deutz with marine gearbox. Deutz is a magnificent work horse. She has a Full set of sails with a few extra. Steel masts, galvanized steel rigging. Has an Onan 12 kv diesel Generator. VHF and SSB radios with aerial tuner with extras. Duel helm, auto pilot and hydraulic steering." My observations:
Listing says it was built in 1971.
It has a pilothouse.
The interior looks better than some other ferro boats I have seen. The use of wood inside looks good. The salon looks comfortable, and gives the impression of a nice "live aboard" space. The double sized berth looks nice too. Whoever put the inside together looks like they did a better job than many of the ferro boats I have seen.
While shown on a mooring, it does look like it would need a long slip if someone wanted to put it into a marina.

Bertie,
It's quite a long time ago, but an Australian grandmother solo circumnavigated in a plywood Folkboat. Now without problems, you understand, but she and boat survived.

Steady's Observations:
1. I am posting this boat because I often see threads on this forum where someone mentions they are looking for a boat that will fit them, because they are tall. Some sailors need more than 6' of headroom to be comfortable. I know I would (I am 6' tall). So for those sailors, here is a boat that has 6' 6" of headroom. I have never sailed on this boat and so am not endorsing it.
2. Notice the smaller tankage. This may or may not be important to you depending on whether you plan to do long passages or not. My personal preference would be to have larger tanks for fuel and water, especially water. Apparently this boat is designed to have lighter displacement (according to the sale posting it says "light" ) and because of that it may be a problem to fit larger tanks.

Steady's Observations:
I am posting this example of a commonly suggested 1970s-1980s era big cruising boat that has been mentioned in many threads here on CF. This example appears to be in good condition in the interior, and from what I can see, it appears roomy inside and very much like a small apartment, so I can see why it is often mentioned when people ask for recommendations for live aboard boats. Many visitors to CF ask about boats with a private aft cabin with a double bed/berth. This boat has that.
Noteworthy Features: Shallow draft. Aft cabin. Interior space. Center Cockpit.

Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds
Marieholm Folkboat 26 1976 $1,995
International Folkboat by Marieholm
Auction boat with Buy It Now = $1,995
Location: Norfolk VA
Marieholm 26 Folkboat Nice Condition Ready to Sail Now Go Anywhere Boat | eBay
Steady's Observations:
Earlier in this thread I listed my earlier observations of Folk Boats based on sailing on a classic wood Folk Boat. That boat was very spartan inside (see photos I uploaded earlier). This listing for this Marieholm, shows a different boat interior that looks nice for short cruises by a single or double.
As I see it, this boat would be a nice "first boat" for someone who wants to buy a first boat and learn to sail on a keel boat (this is a FULL keel boat). This boat type has a reputation for good sailing ability.
Would I buy this? For only $1995, yes!
Why? It would be a nice boat for casual sailing or short cruising. I would not want to live aboard it for any long periods, but I would enjoy sailing it. Would I sail this to the Florida Keys or Bahamas? Yes!
What would I do to this boat?
I would clean it, paint it (a nice new paint color makes these look very nice, see earlier posted photos), recover the cabin cushions, put some Plasteak on the cabin sole, add cockpit cushions, new sails, new running rigging as needed, and build a galley fixture and add a Engel refrigerator/freezer. Of course I would carefully examine the boat and make needed repairs or updates. The sale listing says it comes with a working outboard and a new tiller.
Note: there is no galley and no head. I would simply use a bucket head and would build a "galley" fixture in place of one of the salon settees. As with all Folkboats, there is little headroom, so sailors who are 6' tall will likely need to crouch or sit when in the cabin. Also note that there is a well that allows you to move the outboard motor to an inside position. It is shown on the stern, and there is a plate that covers the well to reduce water drag.

Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds
Here is another highly recommended boat, often suggested for those who like a smaller "pocket cruiser" that can go far, and can be trailered too. Highly regarded by most boat reviews, it is a distinctive small cruiser known to surprise most who find the interior more spacious than expected.
