Re: OpenCPN Version 5 Beta Starts

I have notice that when using mbtiles if you have two overlapping files you cannot bring one to the front by selecting it on the bottom bar like you can with KAP files. This is a problem as if you have one file which is Z8-12 and one which is Z14-Z18 there are times you can't bring up the Z14-Z18 mbtiles...

Not so obvious, but to "un-select" a connection, left click on it again. It is a toggle...

You're correct and I agree it's apparently not so obvious. I now remember we have discussed this before and I've already forgot it. But I don't get any ideas how to handle this in another way. So..
Thanks for the info

Dave,

Maybe it would be an idea to “unselect” the connection when Apply is clocked. I think most people will consider that the expected behavior.

Oops ... I just installed the new version 4.99.1426 that you just compiled.

I withdraw what I wrote here. now, the "Add" button is correctly active after using "Apply".

Is it possible to do MBTiles raster shading in night mode?

4.99.1426 - macOS 10.14.1

Toolbar/Options/User Interface - when I scroll up and down, the scale for scale factors doing funny things resizing itself out of scale. Resizing the window will bring it back to what it should be...until I start scrolling up and down again.

Re: OpenCPN Version 5 Beta Starts

Up on start it is missing the icons for canvas layout in options/dsiplay.
Icons only become visible when I click around the area where the icons should be.

Furthermore .1426 keeps crashing a lot when I change within different apps and back to OpenCPN.

Thanks for the report.
The slider bars are improved for the next version.
More information on the random crashes you see would be useful. Can you post some crash reports as shown by MacOS?

Dave,

I can't figure out why it crashed. But noticeably it happens when switching back and forth between apps...like OpenCPN and Safari. How many of these crash reports you need?

Re: OpenCPN Version 5 Beta Starts

More info on crashes:
They seem to happen only when I use the dock (and with that the touchpad/mouse pointer) to change in between O and other apps. I can reproduce these crashes while doing so. With cmd + tab it's way more stable and very rarely crashes.

Example: I've got the dock icon for Safari on the bottom left side. O with two canvases where the left canvas is active. When hovering on to the Safari icon, the icon sits on top of the chart bar. The chart info displays and the chart itself becomes underlaid red. A click on Safari icon triggers the crash.

Re: OpenCPN Version 5 Beta Starts

Michelle..
Thanks for the reports. Both crashes happened in the same place, so I have what I need to investigate further. For reference, what Mac are you using, and what version of MacOS?

Thanks
Dave

Re: OpenCPN Version 5 Beta Starts

Dave,

it's a MacBook Pro 15" mid 2015 and macOS 10.14.1.

There more missing icons (as reported in the other thread) in ship/routes/points for waypoint default. Seems to be related then.

Thanks
Stefanie

Acquafredda,

- you got the plug-in for 4.99: https://opencpn.org/OpenCPN/snigulp/s63.html ?

- the plug-in is enabled?
