Arrow Insurance in Mexico (pacific side)

Hi All!

I recently sailed my boat from Liberia, Costa Rica to Chiapas, MX and have her stored on the hard at the marina there...so I have my Mexican liability insurance...

My question is, is it possible to get full coverage in MX from either a MX company or a US company? The boat is USCG documented...

I find myself a bit nervous knowing I will be leaving the boat for months at a time for work, and in which time hurricane season is soon...

Any input would be appreciated! Thank you!

Check with Novamar in Puerto Vallarta. They are brokers who know a variety of insurers.

Re: Insurance in Mexico (pacific side)

I have a Mexican Liability policy with Chubb that states not covered when on the hard.

COVERAGE IS VALID FOR PERSONAL AND RECREATIONAL WATERCRAFT WHILE ON THE WATER ONLY. PHYSICAL DAMAGE,
THEFT, COMMERCIAL WATERCRAFT, RACING AND COMPETITION, AND COVERAGE ON LAND IS EXCLUDED. MEDICAL
PAYMENTS FOR YOUR PASSENGERS IS NOT COVERED.

Re: Insurance in Mexico (pacific side)

My boat is currently on the hard in Marina Chiapas as I write. I too have liability in insurance via Chubb (didn't know it didn't cover on land - thanks!). Personally, I think the storm risk is very, very low that far south. While not zero risk, I am very comfortable leaving the boat there.

Fingers crossed for us both ......

Novamar. We’ve used them for the past 5 years.
