Summary of Testplugin_pi 1.0.222 (FE2)

In the PIM Beta Catalog does Testplugin_pi work or not?

Windows 7,8,10,11 - Working installs and works (Icons too big in ocpn_draw)
MacOS - 5.7.1 plugins are loading and working, problems with ocpn_draw - kevin
RPI -? Installation, Version, Architecture etc.
Ubuntu-? Ubuntu Version? Architecture?

We need your help to complete this report.

On macOS Ventura 13.1 (macMini M1) the test plug-in from the beta gets listed - when selected even twice - but will not install with "error 404" - not found.

Bdbcat has just merged into PIM Beta Catalog Testplugin_pi-1.0.225.1 which hopefully will correct these issues. Hope you can test it. If it doesn't fix it please advise we will then try to address this in a focused way.

We need a test done on Testplugin_pi-1.0.225.1
using OpenCPN 5.7.1 for every OS Available.

Testplugin_pi 1.0.255.1 is available in the Options > Plugins (PIM) Plugin Manager using the Beta Catalog. You proper OS version should appear automatically in the PIM.


To enable this Beta catalog is an advanced feature and requires the user to enter catalogexpert=1 underneath [plugins] in the opencpn.ini or opencpn.conf file.

Test Report: Win11 with O5.7.1 with Testplugin 1.0.225.1 Found, Installed, Enabled. Menus open, crashes O w delete text point.

With WIN 10 and O 5.7.1 #2, I don't know what should appear. So, here are the 3 screenshots I was able to make. It's up to you to understand if it's OK or not.

The basic test required here is simply to verify that the plugin is found in the catalog, can be installed, appears in the toolbar, and that it can be selected.
You ( and BCN ) pass with flying colors.

Testplugin

On Win10 no issues.

On debian-arm64:11 (RPi400)
Plugin found and installed. I can use it from the canvas menu although I received the same alert as of Hubert.

Follow Bdbcat standard for testing the plugin.

I do believe there may be a few issues with Testplugin operation:

1. Testplugin does depend on a functioning Ocpn_Draw for actual creation of OD Entities. Without Ocpn_draw, creation and deletion of entities fails I believe.

2. Testplugin does have some issues with icons that need to be resolved.

Other than that, as Dave says, it should be found, install properly with a positive message, enable successfully and show the various menus. That is a successful test.
