Re: Sat2Chart

There's an issue when downloading maps from sas-planet.
I'm not sure what to do with it. Sas-planet installed/configured per instructions.

Re: Sat2Chart

Gyda,

Are you using Google Earth Pro? Have you watched the tutorial "Creating Charts from Google Earth"

If yes then send me an email and attach a screenshot of Google Earth Pro and also the Sat2Chart.log which will be in C:\SAT2CHART\SAT2CHART.V13.0.1.0

Re: Sat2Chart

Hello Paul, and thanks for answering quickly. I'm an (old) programmer by trade myself but rexx is way far from my know-how (I mostly work in c/c++/python).

Regarding google earth pro, I think I'll pass on that one. I have followed the tutorial and read the docs. The logs I attached 2 messages ago show exactly the format that is read from the text box. If the format is different to what sat2chart expects, let me know. However this is a lower priority for me now because sasplanet duplicates and extends google earth pro functionality.

My ultimate goal is to overlay a contour that I have in QGIS on top of a map created from sas-planet and use it in opencpn. I'm trying to make an mbtiles map with multiple zooms per chart (if possible) but I can fall-back of multiple charts with single zoom level.

As said, my real issue is with SasPlanet. I'm able, sometimes, to make charts from it. Once I think I have all settings correct, the next day I'm not able to repeat the process. Mind it, I'm using a notebook and I'm attaching it to different monitors and monitor configurations, with some of them being dual/triple monitors. Maybe this is an issue. I followed the documentation and watched the tutorials. I've installed several versions of sas-planet and sat2chart but I'm missing something.

For now, there seems to be some trouble reading my "sasplanet.ini" settings. I picked the sas-planet nightly, and your version too. In nightly I used your version of the maps. SAS planet works perfectly in all configurations. However, sat2chart (using v13 and v12 last minor versions) is giving me this error:
Code:
10:03:43.242000 0 R_Init_SasPlanet directory=C:\SAT2CHART\SAT2CHART.V13.0.1.0

Let me know how to proceed to tackle the issue. I'll send you a pm with the full log.

Show me a screenshot of the Sat2Chart/SasPlanet/ Options and if you are using my Sasplanet you seem to have changed the last option although that should not cause your problem.

Please email me: my email is in Help at the top.

Re: Sat2Chart

Gynda, have you added any maps that were not in my SasPlanet?

Re: Sat2Chart

Yes, I used mbtiles created by sasplanet and not sat2chart because that is what worked a few times. Should not be the issue here.

I've added only the charts from your sasplanet distribution to the nightly of saslpanet. My sasplanet is not in the C: root, but a couple of levels deep: "C:\t\maps\SAS.Planet.Nightly.210720.10157". The output dir is also in c:\t\maps\out
There're dots in the directory path (should not be an issue nowadays).

What I think/guess is that something is changed in the ini settings when I switch maps and/or layers in SASplanet does not mind and works. I'll try to reproduce the actions I do from scratch and write back.

Re: Sat2Chart

A small update: I moved to single monitor and I reinstalled sat2chart v13.0.1.0 and moved sas-planet to c:\sasplanet. I'm able to make maps now. Let's see if I understrand what breaks it.

OK but if you get any more errors I will ask you to only use my SasPlanet to try to reproduce the problem. Its being used by 100's of Sat2Chart users and is all setup for the Multi-Map support.

Re: Sat2Chart

Sat2Chart.V13.0.3.0 is now available.:
Fixes:
- SasPlanet mbtiles Charts with multiple zooms downloading too many tiles.
- Saplanet kap charts fail if SasPlanet specified to create mbtiles charts.

Download it here: http://gdayii.ca/Downloads/Sat2Chart_Install.exe

Re: Sat2Chart

Some users including myself are reporting that Windows Defender. is reporting that the OORexx file RexxHide.exe has a severe virus. I have opened a bug report with the OoRexx developers. It is probably a false positive but if you want to run Sat2Chart without invoking the Rexxhide.exe then create a shortcut for the Sat2Chart.rex program and use it. If you do this you will see a command prompt window as well is the Sat2Chart window see the attachment.

Now getting rxqueue blocked or quarantined. If clicking on any tab after that am informed GDAL isn't installed though it is.

Terry,

We have known about that problem for quite awhile. Simply unblock in windows defender.

Re: Sat2Chart

If you are getting the error from your virus program saving there is a virus in the rexxhide.exe, I have uploaded the rexxhide.exe from an older version to my website. Download the old version and replace the one in your C:\Program Files (x86)\ooRexx Here is the download link:
http://gdayii.ca/Downloads/rexxhide.exe
You will have to copy the link and paste it into your browser.

Sat2Chart.V13.0.4.0 is now available:
- Now supports only zoom levels Z10-24
- The Tutorial button takes you directly to my one-drive where they can be listed and sorted in various ways.

Here is the download link:
http://gdayii.ca/Downloads/Sat2Chart_Install.exe
which you will probably have to copy and paste into your browser.
