Thanks Mark!
My adimit refusal to stop sailing will likely be the undoing of my relationship. If you can persevere, so can I. You reach an age where, you know, its their problem. The sea loves you regardless (freind or food).

So I guess that would be pretty cool.
Thats an amazingly small number...
Any fact checkers out there?

I had the same reaction. Might be that there have only been 500 recorded in some official place but I don't believe the general statement.

It can't be right - if you just think of the racers, there's Blondie Haslar, Mike Riches, Paul Heine (sp?)Chichester, Tabarly, Colas, Francis, Weld, Pajot, Luhrs (all part of the Ostar history), Ellen MacArthur, Robin Knox-Johnsont, Katie Miller. Plus many circumnavigators such as Naomi James, Joshua Slocum, Alec Rose, Chay Blyth, Krystyna Chojnowska-Liskiewicz. That's 20 without even reciting all the finishers in the solo Route du Rhum, 50 years of the OSTAR and loads and loads of wanderers!

That said - it's still mighty feat and one to be proud of!

Yep.
Maybe not.

Mighty feat indeed is how I feel.

You go Markfuzzle. (I think that is cool too!)

My son (an American) will tell you that rugby is the real game. He says that American football is rugby for wimps.
