I am Claudio, my wife is Pati. Try to remember when we met us in Colon(Panama),
Catamaran Dawn Treader.
Nice to hear from you. I am sailing normally from Chiloe Island to Fireland.
When will you cross the Pacific to the Patagonia ????
Will be happy to receive you
While I have lived aboard for 4 year in San Diego, my cruising knowledge is limited to what I have read and heard.
I made a recent trip to Cuba with the University of CA- San Diego and saw an opportunity. I would like to start bringing boat parts into Cuba in anticipation of the lifting of the embargo. I met with a former government economist and he was also very insistent, as you are, that they will not allow what happened to the Key West reefs to happen to the Cuban reefs. I also met with scuba divers, cruisers and marine tour guides.
I am asking for any advice you might have. I will be making another visit to the Caribbean shortly, where exactly are you located?
If you wouldn't mind completing my survey, I would appreciate it. Unfortunately, I cannot paste it here, the system wouldn't accept a url. Please email me at: ekocek(at)gmail(dot)com.
Been bumping into your posts for a long time now. Have my 36' Moody at 79th Boat Basin on a mooring. Would def dig meeting up and chatting. I'll be heading South to Caribbean Oct. 1 and it would be cool to gather some info.
I always enjoy the humor and absence of BS in your posts.
We just closed the deal on a 2006 FP Lavezzi 40, currently in Simpson Bay.
My job & minor rigging work mean we won't be able to begin delivery from SXM to Gulfport Mississippi until June 18. This is about six weeks later than I'd prefer to do the trip.
So, from those who have 'been there and done that,' are we too late for a sensible trip? My expectation is that we'll see less wind in general and more squalls and thunderstorms than if we left in May but that it's still doable. What are your thoughts?
