I would have to disagree my old coon hound would have outdone any cat. It didn't matter what we fed her she could gag a maggot off a gut waggon. The only smell worse to my nose was when I worked next door to a rendering plant.

with time and effort any boat can be rebuilt and refitted,the equasion is with a cheap boat is: how much are you willing to spend,this in turn is defined by the depth of your skills,on the job learning is a very costly exercise!



fortunately i've done this more than a few times,and hopefully by the end of the season i will have a more seaworthy boat than one that just came out the factory at a fraction(1/20th) of the cost.



here is one previous to this one that i got for a dollar!

it was sunk!

fixed it and sailed it 5000 miles.

spent £6000,sold for £18000,had masses of fun doing it,priceless

Yes on fenders, last two on my boat were found floating in the water. Always see some floating here or there.

Tried to send msg on "thanks" icon, but sent too early to finish my comment. I grew up calling them flip-flops or thongs, but given the comments I've read here, thongs wouldn't be a good option...:/ Glad you're having a good time living aboard your sailboat. I'm 68 and planning on purchasing a sailboat to live aboard within the next two months so I may do some coastal cruising initially. Then ??? Bob

Yeah, flip-flop is Pommie, Jandal is Kiwi, and Thong is Aussie slang. Rubber slab with straps form eith side temrinating between the first two toes.

We also call 'em "Japanese safety boots" (or "Asian safety boots").

So Seppos have always wondered why we Aussies wear an item of footwear over our privates.

[Seppo = 'Septic Tank' = 'Yank']

And to all the Seppos reading this, "Aussie" is pronounced with hard "zz" not sibilant "ss".

So Ozzies. Not Aw-sees. OK..??
