That's a very interesting question because the picture in the parts catalog shows three parts.

I have attached a screen clip of the parts diagram. Part #6 is the assembly I am speaking about.

It shows a retaining ring (part #5), which we have and is fine.

Part #6 is sold as an assembly. On my part, the metal retaining ring looks welded to the disc that you see on the L shaped retainer. The retainer has what appears to be rubber gasket on the edge as well as what you would think of as a standard seal on the inner portion.

I have not looked carefully to be assured that they are NOT two different parts... when I saw this image it confused me and I assumed that it was in error. Maybe not. I will check closely tomorrow.
