How do you feel about using G10 for bolting engine mounts to? I'm planning on screwing/gluing g10 sheets atop my existing stringers and drilling and tapping for the mounting feet bolts.

My only real concern is the g10 thread strength over time with the vibrating engine.

I just wanted to let you know I loved your article in Good Old Boat...a much shorter version of your thread here, but very well done. Friends of mine were talking about it yesterday in fact....

I have a setup, not as nice, like the platform you made for client's plotter. To be removable, preventing theft, one must be able to unplug the plotter. I cannot find anything secure that allows me to safely unplug the GPS. Can you tell me what to buy? Thanks

I would like to purchase a single 700Ah cell to replace one of my cells. I balanced about 3 weeks ago and so far they are good with daily use of about 300Ah and charging with solar.

    Hi,
Quick question: Thanks to all the help from you and others I am going ahead with a LiFePO4 installation on my boat. I am having trouble sourcing cells in the US. I prefer Sinoply or Winston types after ruling out CALP and GBS. I have found a distributor for Sinoply in BC Canada but they will only order for you to get them from China, which would be for an April (may be) delivery. Do you know of any source for either brands in the US right now? If you're too busy that's OK. I won't bug you for any other advice. I did just order a Mastech HY3020EX power supply from your recommendation. Your post on your website is full of good info. Thanks. Joe

I was going to post a question about using butyl to bed the toe rail, but I found your answer on another forum. Thanks again for your contributions.

could you help me. I purchased a 34ft hatteras with same weight as your 17000lbs boat. the boat came with a windlass that is 5/8" rhode only no chain. i also have a rocna 33 and purchased 6ft of 1/2" chain to compensate but this won't go through the windlass so i will have to eventually after hauling anchor go to pulpit and haul in extra 3ft of chain.
my question is what schackles and swivels did/do you use?
    thanks
