You may want to also consider an S2 9.2., perhaps not a sailboat you'd want to cross the ocean with, but a super great sailboat for coastal cruising and small hops down to the Caribbean
We comfortably cruised the rugged west coast
of BC for 15 years in our centre cockpit
, S2 9.2. She was sturdy and comfortable for us and visiting family/friends. Often, we could tuck in close to islands, when other boats had to anchor
out farther. Just another benefit.
I have a friend that bought the aft cockpit
model and cruised/lived on the boat
while checking out the Bahamas
and the Caribbean
, solo for 5 years. He thought the size was perfect, for one or two people living the lifestyle and keeping costs reasonable.
Just a thought.
