Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds

1986 Aloha 32 for $29K Cdn (~$22K US) in Port Dover, ON, on Lake Erie.

https://www.kijiji.ca/v-sailboat/nor...ale/1640422744

Nice boat, decent price. Some nice gear.

These are well regarded in Canada. Conventional fin keel with spade rudder. Under 5 ft draft.

Good family cruiser, 2 cabins.

25 foot Thunderbird sailboat - $500 OBO
Here's the bad about the boat: the varnish is in rough shape. There is no outboard (one of the pictures is old), the joint on house partition needs work, there is a cosmetic ding on the upper hull, some wood repairs are needed.
It was built in 63, I bought it (for far more than $500), I shouldn't have, I don't have the time or place for it. If its being transported by trailer, the mast and keel would need to be pulled (they don't fold).
There is clear title that will transfer.

These are fast boats! Faster than our old Alberg 30 was.

LOL, I've been watching, but I've been working a lot with a different job that has me on the road all the time, so I haven't been posting.

I'm in Florida ATM and hopefully I'll find a few boats that are worth looking at and maybe (fingers crossed) even that one that I've been looking for.
