Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds
I'm traveling for work as well, and had to check my current location. Not a great deal except the location.
https://rockies.craigslist.org/boa/7556822375.html
Don't know if it includes skis.

Now list for $4500

Some of these boats had small inboard engines and would then usually be about twice the price. There were thousands built and they have a good reputation as a nice small weekend cruiser.

Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds
A couple of boats meeting our criteria on this web page:
Canadian Yachting Magazine Classifieds
This one caught my interest -
A Tanzer 10.5 (1983) pilot house $29,900 USD OBO. In Ohio, Lake Erie.
The boat has some good gear, and an owner who was prepared to spend money on comfort.
Mast on a tabernacle. Swing keel. Mainsail furler. Bow thruster. Electric windlass.
Doesn't say what the engine is.

Free Bristol 33
Deck and Hull seem in good shape.
Engine (Atomic 4) on engine stand. Needs to be checked.
It has been sitting outside for 10 years. Interior just needs cleaning, sanding and varnish. No water damage except for a panel under the cabin steps.
Standing rigging may need 4 turnbuckles (I didn't find them)
Lots of parts removed and stored inside, so they just need reinstallation.
There was lots of work done on the boat before they stopped.
Needs bottom paint, new grab rails, Sonar/Depth sounder, 1 Thru-Hull and lots of TLC.
Free + 5K of parts? = great solid Bristol 33
Location: Cape Cod.
The owner posted it on the facebook Bristol Owners page
https://www.facebook.com/groups/5201...20Bristol%2033
He would rather not scrap it and would give it free to someone who wants to put it back in the water.
I have a Bristol 27 and went to see it... but it's too far and I need to spend more time on my B27 before getting a bigger boat.
If you are interested, PM me and I can give you his contact info.

I clicked on the link and it could not be found. Either it was removed for some reason or I have to be a member of that Bristol group.

You probably have to be a member... So for you unfortunate people who are not Bristol owners, here is the text from his post:
"I have a 1970 Bristol 33 that will be going to salvage if I can’t find a home for it. Boat is a project boat with good bones. I just can’t invest the money and time needed. Universal A4. Hull was taken down to near bare glass in January 2012 and all imperfections filled and fared. Five coats of barrier coating and three coats of bottom paint. Boat was never launched afterwards. Hull is in good shape. Topsides need some TLC. Sails were ok but not great. Mast is good. Free to a good home if you can have it hauled away. Hate to do it as it was my dad’s and he left it to me. Time to let her go…"
I can answer some questions or forward his contact info to anyone who is interested...
If I can find a warm place to work on it this winter, I'll take it ;-)

Well hopefully some young Canuck will take it on and put minimal work in her and have a Youtube channel making tons of money.
