Not a secret at all. The Danish authorities are overhauling their licensing conditions and got somehow tangled.

We visited them in March to discuss their draft and are still hoping to get something on the desk from their side.

Will not stop nagging them - promised!

The secret was the deadline, I understand.
I will keep my fingers crossed for future access to Danish charts.
When we can download the Swedish charts, we are off to Sweden!

Question on purchasing oeSENC charts to different platforms:
So far, I have ordered a set of Norwegian and Swedish charts to my tablet.
Now, I want to also be able to run OpenCPN on my Windows PC,
and use the same charts on the PC, will I have to pay twice?

You have always the original chart install plus one back-up install. As defined by the licensors

The back-up can be in parallel on a second system or a back-up/recovery option in case the first install gets invalidated. Your choice..

Thank you for fast response.
That is, what I could read too.
But I was not sure if it was OK to use both versions for navigation purposes.
Many chart vendors (Navionics, C-Map, Seapilot ...) allow the customer to install and use the same set of charts on 2 or 3 different pieces of hardware.
So the answer is, that you will have to pay twice,
if you want to use the oeSENC charts for navigation
on two different platforms - Right?

You can use the charts on two different systems in parallel. Which one you want to call "back-up" in your mind, that is just up to you.

Just keep in mind that in case of the corruption of one of those two systems, you will be left without an additional back-up.

Or in other words: you have two licenses to play and live with.

I have an older Lenovo Win10 laptop with SSD, that I use on the boat.
Now, I will download my backup of the oeSENC charts to this unit.

PS - Any idea of a date, from which the Swedish charts will be ready for download from o-charts / oeSENC?

The Swedish oeSENC set will be available from Friday about 10.00 UTC as a normal chart set at o-charts.

During the day the crowdfunders will get their receipt/invoice as a signal that their chart sets are ready and licensed. And can start to request and install.

OpenCPN 4.8.4 and oeSENC 2.0.1 , Android the actual 1.0.18 and oeSENC 1.7.1423

I'm happy to report, that I have now succesfully downloadet and installed all Norwegian and the newest release - all the official Swedish maps - on my Win10 based laptop and the android based tablet.
It looks very good, and I'm eager to test it out in the real sailing world!
