I just saw the "Lyra Birth" video posted on YouTube. Congrats to you all!

    hello,

I've read a lot of your threads and comment over the last year and thought I would finally join. My wife and I have been on our islander for a couple years now and we are being forced to sell her because we have to move to the east coast for work. I was just wondering if you could provide some info regarding you HC 36. I'm close to purchasing a Mao Ta 36 and am having a hard time finding someone that owns one to discuss the quality of the Mao Ta Yard work. If you know anyone, I'd love to get in contact with them for further discussion. Does the HC have a cast iron ballast? I know there is an excessive amount of teak, which i'm fine with as long as it doesn't block anything vitald. I'm slightly worried the boatyard laid the tanks and fittings and built the teak around it all, rendering it inaccessible or impossible to remove a failed piece of equipment. have you experienced this with you boat?

well, thank you for you time.

Was going to thank you for your sarcasm as I'd messed up the listing (chief) but noticed you're unwilling to show your eyes in photos (binoculars, glasses) so I'm not surprised that your personality suggests...well, I'm sure you've heard it before.

    Hey Rebel
Was wondering if Star & Cresent is still sailing in San Diego... Worked for them in the early '80s

    Hi Rebel Heart
I like your site and your attitude, and of course, the fact that you sail a HC. When is your trip around the world starting?

    Hi Rebel,
As you probably know, we yanked a few posts from the anchor thread. The moderators reviewed the interaction between you and Craig Smith. We agree with your policy of not fighting and request that you continue to keep it polite in your interactions with others. Please contact us for any questions.
    Sincerely,

    Thanks for the friend request.

I will not post on this forum anymore. I was asked to leave (by the admin) because I expressed my opinion about the 15-yr-old girl that got dis-masted during her attempted circumnavigation.

    Hi

Loved you simple view on sailing - water on the outside, you on the inside and the stick in the air!! Will follow your advice!! Launching our cruising catamaran in Sth Africa and hope to sail her back to OZ via the world!
    cheers kerry

I was stationed in San Diego from 1982 to 1985 at the 32nd St. Naval Station. I had a West Wight Potter for a short time. I also sailed aboard someone else's pretty little wooden boat. Once my parents, sister, and brother-in-law came flew out for a vacation, and we chartered a Catalina 30 for the day; had a wonderful sail--sailed right out into the Pacific Ocean (a short ways, and then back). I loved San Diego!

Hey there. I am heading down your way. Maybe if this peasoup ever lets up. How safe and easy to get around in a dink is the A-9 anchorage?
