Thanks for offering the poll data on anchoring. I think we see the situation similarly.

Hi, I saw you posted about your experiences cruising in Mexico. My wife and I (early 70s) have a Beneteau 46 sailboat in Seattle but would like to sail in warmer climes. We did a 1 week charter out of La Paz a couple of years ago and enjoyed it. I would be keen to hear your advice on what and how to plan spending 1-2 years on the west coast of Mexico. Do you need any special visas for longer term stay? Where do you insure? Where do you keep the boat during hurricane season (Summer-Fall?)? We will probably commute back and forth between Seattle and Mexico a few times a year (family reasons) - is it relatively easy to find a secure marina to leave the boat? There are probably a whole bunch of questions I don't even know to ask. Thanks for any help,
    Marius

Hey there Peter, I just saw your post about cell phone booster. We have a never used Weeboost Drive 4G-X, Wilson 4G Wide Band Omni Marine antenna, Wilson 4G dome antenna, 25 ft of wire with a female N on one side and SMA on the other side, plus a few other bits/bobs, and the power cords for all products packed nicely and in perfect condition. We have a canal date to go through to the Pacific side Nov. 17, and will be heading up to Mexico leaving the boat in Calabres in June. I was going to bring it to the US to sell it when I leave Nov. 1, but if you're interested and wish to buy it before, I'll either ship from the US to you, bring it to Mexico, or what ever else works for you.

I am planning on getting my boat painted at Baja Naval in the spring. Any info, or tips from your experience? More specifically, how were you treated on Hull prep (sanding/fairing)?
