So I spoke to Alexander today, the guy selling the Triton. Sounds like a wonderful boat. An extensive inventory of sails, two mains and an assortment of another ten sails I believe. Range in condition from excellent to needing service such as stitching.

freshly rebuilt diesel, not yet run since rebuild. Outboard motor mount, interior is okay but needs attentions cosmetically. Needs to deck paint all over, newer standing rigging and older but still serviceable running rigging.

three auto-tillers one that's moderate the other two working good apparently. a UHF radio if I heard him correctly, electrical panel is older and would be well served to upgrade. Although she's not running much in the way of things connected to it other than a few newer LED lights.

Deck is sounds, she is an East Coast Triton so they are balsa cored. He had a few small spots of delamination about ten years ago which were addressed through injecting some epoxy and they have been solid since.

A few more things I am forgetting to be certain, seems like a real nice guys. Already has a few other things going between farming and racing his other boat and has set aside plans to do any voyaging which is what he was setting the Triton up for after communicating with James Baldwin.

Anyway, I'm thinking I might need to get two boats now which is crazy. Such a beautiful old boat and a good value by my calculations. If my property was closer to the water I would clear a few acres out back and let a few other folks here park their boats there and work on them without having to pay obscene fees. A restoration parking lot for these plastic classics!

Anyway, hope someone can get up to Canada and grab this old girl.

From the sound of it, that one could very well be one of those diamonds in the rough, especially if the engine checks out. I'd like to see the Baldwin-type mods.
Be sure to let us know where that classic-restoration yard will be!!

Don,

If you want to trailer out your boat, I'm just a few hours away in the Rockies! I have plenty of space hahahaha.

Tanzer 7.5 near Toronto Canada (Lake Ontario) for $1,490 cdn = almost free usd

https://www.kijiji.ca/v-sailboat/mar...ationFlag=true

Sounds like a good boat that only needs a wash (don't they all after the winter?) and an outboard. Tanzers were made in Montreal and are known as solid, well built boats. BTW, 7.5 metres = 24 feet. Although this looks like a real deal, I personally prefer the Tanzer 22 and Tanzer 26, both of which have a better layout below (quarter berths). However, a friend owned and sailed one of these (7.5) and enjoyed it very much.

TANZER 7.5 sailboat specifications and details on sailboatdata.com

From the ad:

Tanzer 7.5 newer sails, nearly new cradle, new upholstery inside, everything needed to go sailing. Was sailed every year since it was made. Boat is in need of a good pressure washing after Winter. Other than being dirty this is a turn key boat. Trailer not included but can be used to deliver to boat club. $1490 obo or trade for smaller open cockpit sailboat, willing to store until sailing season starts. Jay, 2893833115 If ad is up it's available, unfortunately no motor

1964 Pearson Ariel, $995

Owner says the following:

" I am nearing the end of the restoration of a Pearson Ariel. Lovely, awesome boat. Solid. Tons of potential. Blank slate. Standing headroom is 5'9". Boat is 26' long. Tiller steering. Awesome motor mount in motor well. A few sails. Recent bottom paint. Brand new cushions and marine portapotty. She draws 3.8'.

I wanted to sail her down to Mexico. Plans have changed.

She has no outboard, but I have one available that I can sell. I can deliver the boat after payment to most locations.

Contact me to check her out and for photos.

Trintella 28 very beautiful boat. Seller is asking $3,000, which isn't close to free but I doubt it will sell at that price considering condition. I saw this same model boat sell in beautiful condition in Santa Barbra last year for under 4k.
