Re: OpenCPN Internationalization ( i18n )

Jon..
Seems complicated and I think a complicated solution is to ask for future trouble?
A simple one could be to get the POT-file into Crowdin as soon as possible while developing a plugin and ask testers to fulfill Crowdin and give response early before release. I think the problem is restricted to a use of single words and when detected it would not be a big affair to change the word or make a two or more words phrase instead?

Re: OpenCPN Internationalization ( i18n )

Hakan of course you understand the process better than I, but the problem is the translators come in at the end and so the problems all occur then in a final mad scramble when they just expect things to work.

Re: OpenCPN Internationalization ( i18n )

Rick... Exactly - And my thoughts was it may be possible to bring the internationalism process forward so possible obstacles are detected in advance?
Such process change is maybe easier than a "engineering" solution - e.g. make things more complicated. (I'm an engineer so I know a lot of making things nicely complicated)

Re: OpenCPN Internationalization ( i18n )

Notice for translators:
The translation(POT) file for plugin BR24Radar_pi is updated in Crowdin.
Please add your translations.

The reason for this change is a coming minor release of the plugin where a couple of new strings are added.

Thanks
Håkan

Re: OpenCPN Internationalization ( i18n )

Last call for BR24Radar_pi translations for the coming new release. (Version 1.32)

Most of you who use to translate for this plugin are ready, many thanks.
For the remaining languages I'll wait until tomorrow before my Crowdin download.

Re: OpenCPN Internationalization ( i18n )

There's a new plugin, tactics_pi, added to Crowdin. Feel free to update the translations. The plugin is based on Dashboard_pi so many strings are already there.

Re: OpenCPN Internationalization ( i18n )

Hi,
The next version of OCPN Draw (1.2) is nearing completion so I have uploaded the latest pot file to crowdin. Hopefully in the next week or so I will be making this version of OD the official one. I will download any new translations then.

Many thanks
Jon

Re: OpenCPN Internationalization ( i18n )

Translators.
BR24radar_pi plugin is being prepared for a new version. Mainly introduction of possibilities to view the radar in a "stand alone" window and for the 4G type it will be possible to use two different views. Other features, like trails and stand alone EBL/VRM, will also be implemented. Kees will tell all about his great job when it's time.

Meanwhile new strings for translation are now uploaded to Crowdin. So if you have the time and joy for a translation effort it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Håkan

Re: OpenCPN Internationalization ( i18n )

I tried the latest Navico plug-in (2.6xx) with OpenCPN 4.2 and it seemed to work OK, after that I switched to OpenCPN 4.4 and it didn't work at all ? Will try to get the latest downloads when the server is up-and-running again. The test setup is very basic: 4G direct to the pc's ethernet port and os W7pro. No heading/GPS but that can be added.

Re: OpenCPN Internationalization ( i18n )

Hi translators.
As earlier mentioned the plugin BR24radar_pi is close to a new version. There are a few new strings added to Crowdin today. Hopefully the last before the official update.
Many of you have been working hard so far. I hope you can manage this update as well.
Thanks
Håkan
