Shhh. Do not reveal the clever plan to solve our housing crisis. Combine lots of regs with lots of taxes, and make very attractive place rather ... less so.
People leave, more room for us! Yay, problem solved!

Now remember, you're now in the know, so keep this to yourself. If the word gets out, the clever plan may fail.

Or it's just a clever hoax. Someone tweets something about CARB and VOCs and then Lowes, HD and WM pull their DNA products. Hilarious (sigh)

Ladies and gentlemen, a gentle reminder, we can agree to disagree, and we can even insult California if you like, but to attack or insult each other is against the rules you all agreed to.

California has been going downhill for a long time. Brown had a father that was governor. And don't bother to move to Oregon or Washington. Many of the people that left California because of the mess the politicians made, moved north in large numbers and voted for the same brand of idiots that ruined California. They might be well meaning idiots, but idiots just the same.

Re: California bans the sale of Denatured Alcohol

What’s the reasoning behind making 190 proof drinking alcohol illegal?

Eddy's Theory of Legislation states....
"legislation can only be written by those who have absolutely no knowledge of the topic."

I don't think it's necessarily illegal, it just can't be sold in 15 states:
Maryland, California, Florida, Maine, Massachusetts, Hawaii, Iowa, Washington, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New York, Nevada, North Carolin, Virginia, and Ohio.

Alcohol rules haven't had a ton of logic behind them since prohibition, I mean what exactly is it about Sunday that makes selling alcohol on that day bad in a number of states (or hunting in Maine, or my favorite, selling sex toys in Florida which is only legal Monday to Saturday!). But kids killing themselves overdosing on alcohol makes for a sympathetic cause it's hard for legislatures to turn down, and if you're the highest proof drink sold you've got an obvious target on you back when a bunch of people feel the need to "do something" but the lobby can turn that into the least harmful action to the alcohol industry. I don't think any of us really miss Everclear, I didn't know till I looked it up that it's no sold in my state. Relevant fact for this thread, in many states where it can't be sold as a drink it still is allowed to be sold as a solvent so if you can find someone stocking it I suppose you could still get it to use in an alcohol stove.

Step 1) Go online and order denatured alcohol shipped to So Cal. Free shipping.

Step 2) Enjoy a warm cup of tea and live strong.

You beat me to it! Just for grins (and to provide some practical, helpful information I hope) I just ordered a quart of denatured alcohol to be sent to my CA office. Screen shot from Amazon attached, went through just fine.
Must be that Bezos was inadvertently left off the CARB telepathy list serve and didn't get the telepathic memo banning it. Or it's a 'gubmn't conspiracy theory and Bezos is part of the "deep state" which exempts him from the secret rules.....oh, turns out the same order at West Marine went through as well. Well there's another conspiracy line of thinking all shot to heck!

The level of credulity and intellectual laziness displayed here is nothing short of really depressing for the future of our Republic, I gotta say as someone who spent more than 20 years serving it.

And actual Newsom's aunt was married to Ron Pelosi, the brother-in-law of Speaker Pelosi, so several steps removed from being a nephew, but hey, why start with accurate information now, amiright? Please, you guys are really starting to depress me with the realization that there's a significant group of you all who actually form your opinions based on information that's A. wrong and B. easily verifiable with 2 minutes of effort!
