I guess you are seeing new 1260 owners join the owners FB page? A few 1370 buyers here said they were initially going to buy the 1260 when the surprise 1370 dropped. The 1370 really showed where Seawind is headed. Eventually the lineup will share the same design language. If seawind can sell 30 new 1280s instead of 10 1260s then it does make sense.

I'm not really privy to where Seawind is headed. It'll be interesting to see how much the actual 1370 looks like the computer image. At the moment, that
hull and
deck design is the outlier in the lineup. Albeit the newest model.
The 1260 has had active sales for a couple of years now, and yes, during that time we have seen their owners come into the FB group. (I think there still is a two-year wait for a new
hull, due to demand.) Overall, there are a lot of Seawind owners excited about the company having a new model to fit that void. That aside though, there is not an overwhelming acceptance of some of the new features being better than on the existing models. For starters, the majority of SW owners like the
galley down of current models. And along with that, the amount of
storage that entails with upper cabinets possible. Full opening front windows, on the 1160-1260 models. Few people really care about what direction the nav station points. We don't use ours under sail, as the CP and other
instruments are at the
helm. As such, I think tucked in a hull is just fine.
I think what Seawind did was maybe capture a group that previously wouldn't be drawn to Seawind. That's why I am cautious about immediately jumping to all new Seawinds are going to look like the 1370. Plus I think the wider hulls on the 1370 will be good for cruisers wanting to load up the
boat, but because of that I am not sure it will be faster than the 1260 hull design. I know of only one 1160 owner on the FB site that has signed up for a 1370. Again, all reasons I would caution against thinking that this
single new hull will be reflective of the entire model line in coming years.
