- Biography
- I grew up sailing with friends and on my grandfathers cruiser. I pursued a career in the merchant marine as a deck officer on iron ore ships around the Australian coastline where I learnt old school navigation and the day to day operations of commercial vessels. I was told one day by our ships bosun that these cargo ships will all be automated by computers and guided by satelites one day and we will all be out of a job. So I researched that and moved into Information Technology and have owned many boats since, but I am waiting for the prices to come down to buy a monohull or cruising catamaran in the 40-50 foot range!
