The Leopard 39 price in Craigslist is ridiculous for the extent of damage.

At the very most thats 5000$ worth.
From the images it looks pretty much totalled and not salvageable.

No mentioning of rigging and sails either.

Not sure about that power solution though.

The engines are very exposed and have a good chance to be ripped off in rough seas.

Apart from weighing the sterns down which is never a good thing on a sailboat.

Yea. Dang trade-offs.
Those engines (yea, exposed) weight only 235lbs. (115kg)

I wouldn’t worry about the weight of the outboards on the stern of a 60’ cat, my worry would be cavitation due to pitching. The outboards should be forward of the rear beam to be really affective.

I couldn't access the refit pics on that forum. They were on Picasa and that has gone away so they might be gone too. There was a big unfinished cat at Gils that was for sale for some time about a decade ago. I think it included twin jet drives that were new but had been sitting around for some time. Is this one that one?


And yes $155k is cheap for a big cat Maddmat so it fits in this thread.
