Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

The Leopard 39 price in Craigslist is ridiculous for the extent of damage.

At the very most thats 5000$ worth.
From the images it looks pretty much totalled and not salvageable.

No mentioning of rigging and sails either.

60' Custom Cat in Florida

Here's a nice big cat for only $155,000.

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

It may be exactly that, cheap.
Usually there is a reason for that.

Looks like a good opportunity though.

Nice find Sand Crab.
Wow.

Love the power idea (if it works). All the noise and smell way "out back".

Re: 60' Custom Cat in Florida

Interesting boat for sure.

Not sure about that power solution though.

The engines are very exposed and have a good chance to be ripped off in rough seas.

Apart from weighing the sterns down which is never a good thing on a sailboat.

Yea. Dang trade-offs.
Those engines (yea, exposed) weight only 235lbs. (115kg)

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

I wouldn’t worry about the weight of the outboards on the stern of a 60’ cat, my worry would be cavitation due to pitching. The outboards should be forward of the rear beam to be really affective.

Is this one that one?

And yes $155k is cheap for a big cat Maddmat so it fits in this thread.

Lagoon 55 $129,000

Here's a fast Lagoon 55 for $129K. The ad doesn't say it sunk. I think it's in the BVIs.
