For some more inspiration on that level check out Wharram Tiki 21 Cooking Fat Rory McDougall.

Rory sailed his 21ft open polynesian style cat around the world. Oh, and raced it too, across the Atlantic in the Jester Challenge finishing a close second (and then sailed it back again of course). Oh, and also, all of this was singlehanded!

The right small boat can be very capable in the right hands.

Here is a trimaran for sale in France, You can use google translate to get teh text in english. The stern seems very wide, there is this odd curved beam just before the mast, I can only assume that is there is keep the interior open. Think it would be a nicer boat with narrower stern and more conventional crossbeams

Paul Lucas a renowned French designer aeroplanes and boats. Suggest the external beam is there to resist wracking loads. Nice boat but ABC says sale pending.

Imagine the bow of the stb arma and the stern of the port arma are on the crest of wave and the opposite corners are in a trough and visa versa as the wave passes. The whole structure is being twisted. A process referred to as wracking.

https://plymouth.boatshed.com/catama...at-276705.html

I keep looking at this cat thinking it is basically a Wharram Tiki 38 with the beams/frames being fixed where the typical lashed beams go then they built the bridgedeck cabin that starts just forward of the 2nd beam and ends right at the third beam. But i still cant figure out how they got that much space in there.

I agree with your comment. I could only see 12 pictures, but it seems to me that there are side extensions (wings) in the inner side of the hulls, hence the bigger space.

The side extensions are visible aft in the first photo below, and you can see this small extension for legs and feet in the second photo of the starboard aft berth. On the port side I guess it's extra galley storage.

Otherwise it seems a mostly standard Tiki 38 as far as interior hull volume is concerned, plus the large extra space provided by the custom bridgedeck.

Thanks for posting the photos.... I refuse to register with every Tom Dick & Harry yacht broker in order to see the photos of the boats he has to offer. I'd love to see more.

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

There are 50 photos so I won't post them all.

Owly, yes I know it's annoying but it's worthwhile to register on boatshed as it works for all of them (Plymouth, Puket, etc) and they often have a lot of photos.

I just register and then unsubscibe to their emails after (or use a disposable email address).

Anyway, it's worthwhile for you in particular case to see this boat and how they achieved what they did.
