Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

The mast and boom appear to be under the bridgedeck in one of the pics.

It appears to be more dirty than decayed, but only an inspection could confirm that.

If so, $500 is not bad, even for what wasn't much of a boat back in the day.

For someone on a tight budget, with handyman skills, it might be worth a look, at least.

So the owner is a bit defensive, but he's probably had issues with keel-kickers or fallen-through sales in the past.

That he will only provide a title when you pay in full and move the boat off hi property is probably not such a dumb idea, in case the sale falls through, then at least there can be no dispute about 'ownership'.

Although, possession is usually 9/10ths of the Law......

I understood the ad as the owner was going to give you a bill of sale and call it a title.

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

So what more do you need for a "title"?

Unless it's got an HIN (highly unlikely, but possible...) it probably doen't appear on any State or Federal register.

But it might be worth asking that question. In case he stole it....back in the day....

Here in Oz, any boat that has not been officially Registered on the register of Autralian Ships, and pre-dates the HIN process, needs only a Proof of Purchase to enable Title.

Also saves your ass if the thing turns out to be stolen by the vendor, as you can prove you paid for it rather than stole it yourself. Might not help getting your money back though....

1978 Ocean Winds 33 on ebay. Hoping for $40K, current bid $7K. Low hour twin Yanmars 2 cyl has some appeal.

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

This one looks familiar....
31' Wharram Catamaran Tiki 31

A 31-foot catamaran that can float. At least that much we know. Looks a lot better than the Piver on the ranch in Goleta, California.

Forgot to mention....and it's only $500.....in Canadian dollars. That would make it about 26 bucks and change in US dollars. Something like that.

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects

That Privilege link didn't work for me. Not sure if it was just a problem on my end, or with the link itself.

Maybe this will work?
https://keys.craigslist.org/boa/5496649488.html

-------------------

engine hours (total): 0
length overall (LOA): 40
make / manufacturer: Bentatot
model name / number: privilege
propulsion type: sail
year manufactured: 1990

I a have a salvaged Privilege 39 1990

Zeelander was holed in Spanish Wells

The rudder posts, and shafts were ground out by a coral reef.

the boat was hauled and glassed from the outside

I glassed her from within and put my own shafts down thu the bridge deck

Classic Rudy Choy C/S/K Design #52 Vessel Toru LOA Ocean Racing Catamaran For Sale pictures of the csk in bc

copy of the craigslist ad in 2014, land owner apparently selling it off, perhaps a friendly inquiry to the previous owners (1st web site) could at least get you the location of the building or perhaps contact info. located in richmond (vancouver) bc http://www.pandahi.com/1031905946.html

I hope the cabin extension gets taken off!
