Pierson 365 ketch - $17,499 (Brookings) should be Pearson

Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds

1977 Crealock 37 in Blaine, WA $40K Canadian (~$30K US):
https://www.kijiji.ca/v-sailboat/del...ale/1659608579

- I presume this is in Canadian dollars?

The engine is newer than the boat (approx. early '90s). These are very nice boats, excellent robust cruisers. The low price is because the owner notes some moisture was found in a survey.

The boat was repowered in the 90s, I think (Yanmar 3JH2E). Some good, relatively new gear.

If I was looking, I'd look at this!

Re: Boats Less Than $30K Recent Noteworthy Finds

Dufour 4800 (35 feet) near Montreal, QC for $23K Canadian (~$17K US):

https://www.kijiji.ca/v-voilier/longueuil-rive-sud/dufour-4800-35/1659668825

The other end of the spectrum; this looks neglected, tired interior, boat needs work, has original engine and probably under-powered.

Probably won't sell at this price but might be worth watching for a bargain (estate sale).

There's a Pearson Ariel in Seasside (near Monterey, CA) for $2,500:

It's been on the market for a while, not sure what condition the boat is in.

The trailer alone might be worth $1K. And there's an outboard.
It would need a crane or lift to launch.

You can sail it up .

If someone is seriously interested in the boat, I might be willing to go look at it for you, and take some photos for people.

That is a really good deal. A perfect starter boat and a trailer to boot!

Find a beater 3/4 ton truck in the same area. I've seen them for $800. Don't even transfer the title until you get to Wa. re-title it there then sell it for more than you bought it for. It would cost $300-$400 in fuel.

I live in Northern Ca. A double axle sailboat trailer, used, goes for $3000-$4500. A travel lift could splash it anywhere for a few hundred bucks. Plus you could paint the bottom off-site.

15-20 hours drive time and $300-$400 in gas vs. going to weather for 900 miles along a sometime inhospitable coastline with few places to pull in. Remember, it has an outboard.

Nah. You could splash it at the boat ramp with a chain or winch. Recovering the boat is possible as well, but would need some 4 in. pipe or similar to make a tongue extension.

Depends on cost of sling . Here there are many sling launches possible for under 200 bucks so not worth the salt exposure to the trailer and brakes .

Plus most ramps I've seen in less tidal areas does not extend far enough to accommodate the draft of a sailboat and once in, often times the trailer wheels hang up trying to jump back up on the beginning of the ramp

That is affordable! Don't know where to find such a bargain on the east cost...
