Re: Radar plugin v5.0.0 released
Navico RDR1042 part number seems to be a cable for a (JRC-type) radome radar. Not supported by radar plugin.

We are trying wake on LAN, and have sniffed the ports with wireshark to try to find the actual packet being sent to wake it up. Interesting enough, there is also a packet to shut it back down (normally sent when you power down the chart plotter).
Trouble is, we attempt to send a packet, but the multicast seems to strip it out. Not sure if it is a Windows firewall or dynamic multicast port thing, but we are working through it. We think we know the packet (if it isn't a simple wake on LAN), but can't see it arrive in the switch the radar is connect to.
Anyone know more about multicast and how to send this packet?
Good news is that if we figure this out, you could add this packet to the multicast discovery in the plugin and people won't need to do any hardware or cable mods to kick it into gear!
We will update as we learn more...
BTW - this is going on our unmanned surface vessel, fun project!

Hi LoopZilla.
Any progress on this?
Fantoms are everywhere now and it seems as if getting this into the plug in would be very beneficial to the community, as older HDs and xHDs are getting harder to find. Plus, a digital solution seems way more elegant that a pin-5 switch.

Re: Radar plugin v5.0.0 released
Ivanm..
If you show AIS targets on the PPI window you may need the beta version of the radar plugin. Or what's the version of your "plugin newest version"?

Re: Radar plugin v5.0.0 released
To confirm you can in "View" switch off "AIS/ARPA on PPI" to check if this is your problem.
If so you can get a version correcting this, v5.5.0-beta4, by:
In Options->Plugins-> "Settings..." *) "Select plugin catalog" Beta -> Done.
Then "Update Catalog Beta" and check for a updated radar plugin to install.
*) To be able to use "Settings.." you may have to close OCPN and edit the Config file as of the message when you click "Settings..."

Re: Radar plugin v5.0.0 released
Ivanm..
Just to confirm we are talking about the problem I thought the updated radar plugin should solve:
Did you try to switch off "AIS/ARPA on PPI" to see if your crash still occur without it?
If not I see when now looking back this issue is also dependent of OCPN itself. It's corrected in OCPN coming release v 5.10. The Beta release for 5.10 will soon be available I think.

to be sure: similar like using VNC or RDP you are able to get remote access to another PC from the axiom?

Re: Radar plugin v5.0.0 released
Anydesk is good but since it require a I-net connection a VNC may be better on board?

Re: Radar plugin v5.0.0 released
If Anydesk can run on a Raymarine axiom it may be it supports some VNC as well. You have to consult your Axiom manual to find out how to do it I suppose.
Then OCPN and Axiom has to be on same network.
