OPNCPN 5.0 Stops working when zooming on WIN10

I upgraded few days back to OpenCPN 5.0
At a first glance everything looked fine then I noticed I had all the fonts in the option windows on the large side. Managed to bring them to size 12.

Now when I zoom in some area (doesn't matter which area of the globe) randomly it stops working when the range becomes small and then shuts down.

The problem originates with no specific zoom range but always on the small range around 1:58000 or 1:64000 or when panning very fast.

I tried the +/- heys from the keyboard, the mouse wheel or the +/- lens icons on the screen. It always stops working at some time. I have the impression that by using hte keyboard it may take longer before it stops responding but it's just a feeling maybe.

looks tlike some stack overflow issue . Shall I try to re-install eventually ?

- is the detected physical width of the screen correct? (Option|Display|advanced)

- closing = crashing ?

- which charts are you using?

Hello I get the same problem. It was the plugin Objsearch. I remove it and now it is working fine. PC Acer with W10

The checkbox in (Option|Display|advanced) is set on Auto but now that you make me think of it som of the windows (e.g., plugin wheather routing) were slightly exceeding the physical bounderies of hte screen.

THe charts are the usaul ones, i.e., CM93 . I also added some charts that I have personally geo-referenced but the same setup works flawlessly with WIN7

Yes .. pops up a window saying OPNCPN stopped working please wait till WINDOWS suggest a fix and then if you try to close that alarm message or wait a little sinply OPNCPN closes (shuts down) but I always succeded in restarting it at once. THe PC doesn't shuts down just OPNCPN.

First disable all plugins. Then see if the problem can be reproduced. If it happens look at the log file (use the help button to find the log file) and see if any interesting message appears. Upload the log file here using .pdf extension if you like.

I had the same issue. I reported on the 5.0 release thread a few days OK.

Re: OPNCPN 5.0 Stops working when zooming on WIN10

Probably not quite the right place but my cm93 charts show large greyed out areas. this has been happening in most of the 4 and now the 5 release. Its happening on 3 separate win 10 computers. I haven't altered my charts but this never happened in the "3' releases. Any ideas anyone? Tony (tried to post a screen shot but it didn't want to copy...)

bvimatelot...

I suspect your cm93 is corrupted now, and was for O4.x also.
