Zooming in/out question

I'm using the NOAA raster charts and have a question. Everytime I zoom in or out I have to hit the Find/Follow button on the toolbar because the my ship icon is no longer centered on the screen. Is there a way to fix this?

Also, is it possible to have multiple "dashboards" in the dashboard plugin? Depending on what I'm doing I sometimes want to show different data and font sizes on the screen. I would be much easier to switch between dashboards instead of modifying the dashboard everytime I want to look at it differently.

Re: Zooming in/out question

Sorry, I think I answered my own questioon about the dashboard, just by reading the manual. My first question is still open, however!!

Re: Zooming in/out question

If you zoom using toolbar icons or numpad +/- keys autofollow will stay in place, since you are zooming exactly around the screen center.

When you zoom using scroll wheel you are effectively also panning, which disables auto follow.

Slackwater....

Do you have Toolbox->Etc->Wheel -zoom-to-cursor set?

If so, try unsetting it....

Thanks

Re: Zooming in/out question

OK, I'll just have to use the icons and or the +/- keys whenever I need to have it stay centered and use the mouse wheel only when it doesnt matter

Slackwater....

You can use the wheel if Toolbox->Etc->Wheel -zoom-to-cursor is NOT set.

If NOT set, the screen center point stays at the same lat/lon on zoom operations.
