Tools->User Interface North up/ COG up and GPS status works but you need to restart OCPN to see changes (W7).

Re: OpenCPN Version 5 Beta Starts

Unlike 4.8.8 the toolbar icons do not show the rollover image, only the active and toggled images.(Windows 8.1)

Flyspray FS#2483 refers.

Thanks,
Mike

please see the sticky thread on flyspray. Despite what was written by AISEAG in post 8, I (and likely all/many other 'normal' users) cannot set notifications on an issue entered in flyspray. That defeats the purpose of entering a bug there and then react quickly to comments/questions by the dev team or others.

Currently I have to check every single one of my flyspray entries and see if someone has reacted to it.

Dirk...

I edited the Flyspray Project preferences, I think. Tested by making a post to a task you are watching.

Did you get the notification?

Nope, and I checked the flyspray preferences, notification still only allows ‘none’

Now messages from Flyspray received also here for the first time since long ago. Both the bump and a real one. Thanks

Re: OpenCPN Version 5 Beta Starts

Not sure if that has been reported before or if it happens just to me:

AIS coming in from UDP and displays nicely. When opening the options menu to watch the NMEA data stream and then close the option window, the data stream stops and all AIS ships freeze at last known position. No way to get the stream back on unless I restart OpenCPN.

4.99 on macOS 10.14.1

Re: OpenCPN Version 5 Beta Starts

Here on the mac the NMEA log will not break OpenCPN.
UDP, 4.99, macOS 10.14.1

But one can't pause the data stream in the window. Button has no effect.
Closing the window directly is not possible neither.

Disabling it from the Communication tab will close the window and the data stream is still received and processed by OCPN

Re: OpenCPN Version 5 Beta Starts

Here it does, somehow and disabling does not resume data stream. Wonder why it happens to me.

Yes, forgot to say that you can't reach pause and copy button.

Re: OpenCPN Version 5 Beta Starts

Problem found and reproducible for me.

I had set two connections with same ip address, but only the first connection was active. That is when the problem appears once closing the communication tab.

As soon as I delete the duplicate entry it works as it should be. I even can access the pause and resume. The copy button does nothing meaningful as I cannot select anything from the data stream. Same with the filter, it doesn't filter anything.

When I set up a new connection with the same data and NOT active, problem carries on.

Re: OpenCPN Version 5 Beta Starts

I've three issues for the Route manager.
I'm on Win10. Could anyone else confirm this? Seems strange.

  1. The "Plan speed" can't be edited. Each Leg can after a double click be edited. I don't remember if this was the intention.
  2. Even if a Tide station info window is open in the same canvas no tide info is created. I've changed the date and pressed Enter as of the logic in version 4.8.8.
  3. If the Route properties is opened from the left mouse click menu it can't be closed using the "OK Button". Nothing happens when I click. One not repeatable O crash occurred when I clicked the OK button several times.
These issues are noted in Flyspray: https://opencpn.org/flyspray/index.p...s&task_id=2489

Can't reproduce, the field is editable for me on all platforms

This is not how it works in O5. Each mark (waypoint or routepoint) now may have a corresponding tide station attached permanently (mark properties, extended tab). Once there is such a connection defined, the tide event at the corresponding tide station and ETA is provided in the route properties window. There is no need to have the tide window open at all.

What is the "left mouse click menu"? FWIW I can't reproduce after neither double left-click on the route nor using the right-click context menu.

If it ever happens while you run a debug build, I would like to see the backtrace as it never happened here.

Sorry, Yes right click... of course! And this I can reproduce after several restart. anyone else?

I'll check the tide logic. If so I must have missed this.. (Long winter, bad memory??) Thanks for the info.
