Re: OpenCPN Version 5.1.518 Beta Test

The Raspbian 64 bits is just released and is called Raspios (buster Arm64)

I can report that the OpenCPN beta 5.1.518 Bionic also works on this new 64 bits Raspios.

Although I had to add the key to the Ubuntu keyserver.

A 64 bits OS works certainly better on a 64 bits system like the P3B+ and PI 4.

Regards,

Bram

It was not really a track. The track and route manager wasn't able to delete it.

Re: OpenCPN Version 5.1.518 Beta Test

I'll second or third the Pi 64. Installed the OS this afternoon and was able to grab the ARM64 package (5.1.518) straight from the PPA and install. Been running in test mode for about 6 hours so far with no problem. It's beta software on a beta OS so I'm sure something will crop up eventually.

Re: OpenCPN Version 5.1.518 Beta Test

OK, this is probably a question answered somewhere, but How do I add the Beta PPA to my Raspberry Pi so that I can follow along with the updates? I probably need to add it in the terminal as the package manager seems more difficult. Thanks for any help.

Dunno if this is important, but I've noticed this after a Mac switches back from Dark Mode to Day Mode: The chart scale bar looses it's background. I'm on Mac OS Catalina.

There are two PPA repositories, one for stable versions only and one that includes beta versions. If you want the beta versions replace the “ppapencpn/opencpn” string in the following instructions with “ppa:bdbcat/opencpn”.

From the command line

Open a Terminal and enter the following commands:
Code:
sudo apt-get install software-properties-common
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:opencpn/opencpn
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install opencpn
