Re: OpenCPN General

Does anyone know if there is an interface for OpenCPN to download and display Activecaptain data and/or Waterway Guide data?

Re: OpenCPN General

Silly question, maybe I'm missing something. I have been using OpenCPN for about 7 years and recently upgraded to version 4.99.1508 and now I can't find the tide charts. I have searched the OpenCPN web site and could find nothing on where they went, or how to load any necessary plugin. I did download the harmonics files a while ago but still can't find the tides/current icons on the tool bar.????

Hakan

Update to my Problem with Airmar heading Sensor
Turned out to be a Software problem, I Reinstalled the software that came with the Heading sensor, Went for a Ride in the Boat yesterday, Every thing seemed to work just fine, Heading was right on, Targets were right on the money, Stability Great.

Thanks again

rontom..
Very good to hear you found the problem. Thanks for the feedback. And I suppose you've come to same thoughts I would have done on a similar occasion: "Why didn't I checked that from a early start?"

Re: OpenCPN General

I'm a new OpenCPN user using Windows 10. Looks promising! I just wanted to see charts and waypoints using my laptop, rather than using the Garmin that's on the boat. Got the charts working and imported my fishing waypoints in the Florida Keys. I don't want or know how to interface my GPS to my laptop. My problem is the program thinks "my ship" is in South Carolina or someplace. All my waypoints are 500+ miles from "my ship". How do I set the current ship location to where my dock is? Thanks for your help!

Display your location, right click on the screen and select 'Move boat here'.

Re: OpenCPN General

Thanks. That works. OpenCPN is excellent! Weird tho, when I started looking into it yesterday morning, the OpenCPN.org website worked, but it quit working soon after and still doesn't come up today...right?

Re: OpenCPN General

just a note:
due to the cruel handling of some display managers gtk is not implemented any more and therefore the "make package" and installation on i.e xfce4 seems to be OK but starting fails due to obvious reasons but without a hint why.

dashboard:
the button bars look has been upgraded to new standards but the dashboard should folow.
