Re: O-Chart Plugin error on Raspi 5 (BBN)

@molly21

Why are you installing it? BBN OS comes with correct version of o-chart plugin pre-installed.
In OpenCPN catalog it seems broken.

It works for me. Do you go into settings and enable it?
What BBN OS image version?

I just tried after installing same image.
Went into plugin settings, enabled o-chart plugin. No errors.

What error are you getting?

Well, your boat system is production system.
Before applying any changes to it you need to test if that procedure works in identical QA environment.
Otherwise you always have a risk of breaking things.

Re: OpenCPN General

Ivanm...
The ship name and other details are in another AIS message then Position, COG, SOG.
Could it be on the other PC you haven't yet received these messages? They are sent more seldom. (MMSI 601818000is not a problem. It's from "South Africa")

What are you using for an AIS receiver for each PC? What version of OpenCPN on each PC?

Re: OpenCPN General

@Warren.. I use 5.8.4.0 on both get Data from ComNav Ais via Simrad Radar using WiFi connection on one Pc and Ethernet on the other I changed this around and left it running for 10 hours did not show name , I used the usb conection from the Ais aswell no positive results.
Is there no log file or something I can copy from one Pc to the other that will contain the info?

Re: OpenCPN General

Ivanm..
If you receive ship details and name from all other AIS targets but not for these two I may conclude it's something wrong on the ships' transceiver.
There's no log but you can record what's received by plugin VDR. Start recording when you see the ships in question and record for at least ten minutes.
If you can make the VDR file reachable for others somewhere we can check as well.

Re: OpenCPN General

Ivan...
The AIS MMSI->Ship Name information is saved in the file:
"mmsitoname.csv"

You may safely copy this file from one system to another to immediately access the full history.

But we would like to get to an understanding of the problem on the one computer.
VDR file will help.

Thanks
Dave

Re: OpenCPN General

Success at Google Play!

Hi All,
Our efforts with emails and messages have paid off. Only the official version of OpenCPN is now available at the Google Play store.

Sigh of relief.
Cheers,
Bruce
