o-charts curent master

Hi,

I know that current master is no stable, but I prefer report now.

Windows 11, o-charts plugin version 2.0.0.64

Charts are correctly displayed, but the o-charts tab is missing in the options Charts section. Impossible to manage charts.
Off course the plugin is enabled, and the problem don't exist in 5.8.4

Correction:

At certain zoom level o-charts display is not correct and this is linked to the plugin 064 version, the same behavior with current master and 5.8?4

I have looked at the recent changes for o-charts_pi, and can see no likely reason for a change such as you show in 064 version.
What charts are these? Did the problem begin very recently?

I use the chart set "British Isles and France, Atlantic 2023"
Yes, it began very recently. I've never seen this before, while I used it all the summer.
I am thinking that in parallel to the plugin change, I made an update of the chart set. Maybe the problem is due to this update?
This chart set is a monster (1,4 GO) I Had problems with it mainly on Android version (see my posts on the dedicated forum).
What I can say more is that the display problem don't exist on Android, chart non updated and plugin version 044. (Now I no longer update this chart set on that platform.)

In the "validate installed chart set", after update, I get these warnings:

17: Starting chart test load.
18: Chart count: 936
19: Chart load warning ( C:\Users\joube_vnrxge8\Documents\Bateau\Cartes\oeu SENC-FRatl_UK\OC-44-A60804.oesu ) : Chart has been cancelled

Just for comparison:
I'm on Win10 running today's Git master and o-charts v 2.0.0.64
The o-charts tab is visible as usual.
Sweden charts (about 1 GB) works fine.

The warnings are correct: there exist indeed cancelled cells.
Nothing to worry about.

Hum ... Strange
This worked fine before... and OK on Android, same chart set.
Am I the only one to face this problem with this chart set and Windows 11?
Tried to load and install several times without success.

In case: If you reload - or request - the same chart set again, make sure that the cache gets purged before. If not you will install the same , perhaps broken set, again.

Hi Dave and bcn

Trying to understand why I have a gray zone in o-chart display, I suspect the 0C-44-061001 chart responsible for that.
After switching quilting to OFF to isolate it, we can see in the two first screenshot that the gray zone is here and the same with Android and Windows.
Then, without any other change, just switching quilting to ON, and we can see in the two others screenshot the difference between Android and Windows. Whereas Android makes a good job to suppress the gray zone, Windows keep it visible.
That leads me to two questions:
Why the gray zone inside the chart?
Why this difference between Android and Windows, and is there an improvement possible to handle correctly this case?

I fear that this the result of a patch in the latest o-charts plug-in in order to overcome performanc issues with overly complex charts.


Is in place due to some Greece overview charts.


Just checked and the German overwiew chart for the Baltic Sea shows grey patches as well. Or is just grey.

We have corrected the UK charts "grey area" rendering as reported.


Please update your o-charts_pi to version 2.0.0.66.
You will also need to rebuild the chart database to get correct rendering.


Please note: o-charts_pi update for Android is not yet ready, coming soon.

On Win10, OCPN: Git master, o-charts: 2.0.0.66
Using a small scaled overview chart for Scandinavian the soundings are now drawn very dense so the sea areas are filled to a grey surface. See pict.
