Curent table while passing NYC was way out.

About two weeks ago I passed trough NYC coming from Port Washington. While going trough NYC you have to pass " Hell Gate " where the current can be 6 knots . The best is off course to be there with slack tide .
I have Total Tide from the BA and an other one. Both told me that 10.20 was the time to be there . Also the current table from NOAA gave the same time.
But on the table that comes with OpenCPN it shows more then 3 knots with me . A big difference and I was there at 10.30 lt and it was slack .
Why was the table from OpenCPN so way out ????

On the 16 of october slack water was about 10h00 in the morning, this is the data I have. Max ebb around 06H00 and max flood about 12H30. Anything wrong with that? This for Hell Gate. (EDT).

For NYC and Long Island Sound
I’ve used Eldridge” tables
and they have always been spot on
Wouldn’t trust anything else
Cheers

I've always gone through Hell Gate going with the current. Never had any issues controlling the boat (Endeavour 37 - 21,000 lbs.) And the current is a big help that moves the boat right along.
