Chart bar in wrong location

I've 64 bit 5.8.4-2 running on my rpi 400. I can't figure out how to move the chart bar, aka canvas bar, to the bottom right corner of the display. It's currently in the center of the chart. The tool bar was also misplaced but I fixed that i
by changing the configuration lines to OpenGL=0 DisableOpenGL=1 .

Has anyone run into the same problem and if so, how did you fix it? TIA

Maybe go to options>display>templates>recovery template>apply selected config?

That didn't fix it. I've fixed a bunch of stuff since I installed the flatpak a couple of days ago.

zrm...
The lower right control bar is fixed programatically to always be at the same position, lower right.
So something unexpected is found in your configuration.

Do we understand that you are running OpenCPN flatpak?
Have you tried some other display resolutions?

Thanks
Dave

I'm trying to upgrade my Rpi 400 to 64 bit OS and OpenCPN 5.8.4. I can boot the 64 bit OS but I can't fix the problem with the opencpn display from when I install the flatpak. My 32 bit setup works fine, i'm using it now. I tried different display resolutions as you suggested, with no improvement. Is something missing from the flatpak I need to copy from my 32 bit setup?

I'm an experienced linux user but a poor IT guy!

Thanks
Richard

What 64-bit OS are you installing on the rPI-400?

Thanks

Richard...
This is the first time this particular issue has been reported. So it is not common.

In order to replicate and possibly fix the issue, we need more specific information.
Do you have a link or web reference to the OS you are running?
Your Monitor and normal screen resolution? etc...
The more info your can provide, the more likely it becomes that a solution will be found.

Thanks
Dave

Hi Dave

I have a text file I'll attach that contains an annotated history of my installation procedure. I hope it helps. I used Raspberry Pi imager v1.7.5 to install the OS, selecting: Raspberry Pi OS (64-bit), A port of Debian Bookworm with Raspberry PI Desktop, (Recommended), Release 2023-10-10.

Remove the .pdf extension to read.

Thanks
Richard

Re: Chart bar in wrong location

Richard...

Thanks for the log.
From which I determine you have:

1. Tried to install OpenCPN native, from OCPN standard repo. No luck.
2. Tried to install flatpak, and then OpenCPN for flatpak. Also no luck, but I note that OpenCPN for flatpak is built against Platform 20.08, not 18.08.

And then the screenshot. Is this native OpenCPN, or flatpak?

Thanks
Dave

I think it's flatpak but how can i tell for sure?

I added the real log file.

My linux skills are rusty, I'm relearning as I go.

Richard....

How did you start OpenCPN? From the command line? What was the command?

Re: Chart bar in wrong location

Richard...
From the log, I can see that this is flatpak.
Good information, I will look again at your install log, and try to reproduce.
Thanks
