Lady Astor - "Mr Churchill, if you were my husband, I'd poison your tea."

That can't be right because we know that Mark cannot fish. He crossed the whole of the Indian ocean without being able to catch anything, not even that laughing dorado that followed him.
@Lodesman - Another couple of "Churchill-isms" for your collection
Bessie Braddock: Winston, you're drunk
Winston: You are ugly madam, in the morning I shall be sober
--
There was a less well known quote about a new member of parliament who found himself sitting beside the great man in the House of Commons
New MP: It is a privilege to sit here with you sir and face the "enemy" opposite.
Winston: That sir, is Her Majesty's Opposition. The enemy is all around us (meaning his own party)

Plenty of lessons from history for others. no names

Yeah, well, just this year Wimbledon hosted the longest tennis match in history. That necessarily proves that Britain still has the umpire upon which the sun never sets.
Hmmm ......... time for another beer.

Hey Mark;
Well, that kinda sucks, don't it? No need to drag you down, so just get out there and keep living your life, I know you won't have too much trouble with that. I hear that Gabby Wunderland is single.....
Chris
PS - we are buying the Pretorien, details to follow after closing.

Mark, Nic, I was just informed of this announcement.
I'm just crushed by the news.
I can only say that I hope that your dreams continue, bring you joy, and some day make a mends.
If it's truly not to be, well may your separate paths bring you both joy and happiness.
Being a solo sailor. Mark you will get the hang of it. It takes some planning and early action to manage, but it's easily doable. Hang in there.
All the best to you both in your new paths.
Cheers, fair winds.

Your too late! I already figured it out. I need
1- A blue water boat (Swan?) (Idora?)
2- A Rocna
3- A girl from down under
I get to have the time of my life and get free beer... I had missed the sublty of this plan before. I doubt my wife will allow it.

A newbie butts in
Mark, you've heard from old friends. I am a new one, who hopes you will find someone to cross the pond with you. I think no one, be she 16 or he 60, can safely sail alone. There is no way any solo sailor can keep the watch the regs require. That said, 18 people on watch can't protect you from the submerged container but a second set of hands can effect repairs more quickly. Fair winds.
