Re: Contributing to CF has become unbearable

When someone has a problem like Sparx did, with phone access, the problem is usually due to their browsing history, and lack of ad blocking. As for him, the solution is to clear one's browsing history, and install a blocker of some kind.

I agree with dmytryk. Your device very likely has been infected with some malware. Try running a scan with your anti virus software. It may identify and fix the issue.

I look at CF on my laptop using Chrome and on my android phone. Neither exhibit the issue the OP describe.

I didn’t think an anti-virus/malware was required on an iPhone with latest iOS, except for the ads on CF and other sites I have had no security issues on my iPhone.

Tetepare - which settings have you activated to avoid seeing them in safari?
I have iPhone and use safari. All kinds of pop ups and ads.
I’ll be damned if I’m paying for blockers.

At very least your anti virus software should be able to block them.
iPhone doesn’t get viruses.

The situation has become unbearable. Just now I abandoned in frustration an attempt to add my thoughts to a discussion This situation has degraded my willingness to participate here.

Sorry to complain, but i expect I am not the only one.

I am accessing using chrome on an android device.
If it was like that for me, I would not bother either. For what it's worth, I am using Microsoft Edge, do not have an add blocker, and do not get any advertisements.

Back there in the dim distant past, I probably selected 'block pop-ups' in the settings of MS Edge, so that would deal with the adds as well. I suggest if you want to stick with Chrome, that you go looking for the settings and see if there is an option there for you to block all pop-ups. If there isn't then there's your answer..

I see no ads, run no blocker, use standard Firefox, on PC (Win 10).
Done
Thanks Gord
I consider that a great deal

We use Firefox with one Ad Blocker. So far the only ad is the CF ad in the beginning of the log on. I don't know why I'm still getting that one.

I’m inclined to agree with the OP.

I never had any ad issues before. Then I logged out and back in. Now my screen looks like this!!

No ads popping up for me. I use Firefox with Windows 10. Never liked Chrome since the menu commands at the top seemed to be missing, at least when I last tried it.
