Hi David, you once posted a message about wintering in Sicily, saying you could give more information about suitable places, and a recommendation or two for suitable hard stands. I am looking for a marina in Sicily for this winter 2023/24 and wonder if you could provide me with the same information. I have a Beneteau 46, and come from Sydney.

J'ai un soucis depuis l'achat en 2017 de mon Océanis 45 avec le D&G.
Il passe subitement d'une manière aléatoire soit en navigation moteur soit au démarrage du moteur en lampe rouge clignotante sur le joskit ce qui entraine une perte de propulsion moteur. il faute faire un arrêt moteur et couper les batteries pendant un laps de temps pour que la panne disparaisse;
J'ai cru comprendre que David B as eu une panne similaire;
Si une autre personne peut m'aider je suis preneur car je commence à être à court d'idée.

Hello David hope you are well? I’m just getting intouh with you as I’ve been looking at options for hard winter storeage- and being a fellow South Aussie cruising around the Med I thought I’d reach out!

I’m looking at options around Sicily or similar to haul out for the winter. I’ve emailed a ew marinae from Spain ( boat is currently in La Linea, Spain side of the Gib border with my wife and daughter while I’m working skippering around Croatia) to Greece, trying to find a suitable marina/yard to haul our boat while we head to the Uk to work for the winter. Just wondering in you time in the Med if you know any potential good options?

Anu help or pointers to the right direction would be great

Hi David, it sounds like you have the exact same toilet system that I have (we love our Jabsco). I am not sure what the drama is about boat toilets smelling? I survey over 200 boats a year and maybe 1% of them have a smelly toilet system. I think this whole toilet/composter issue is just taking the piss and the yanks are just taking it all to seriously. Cheers
