Contributing to CF has become unbearable

Pop up adds are constantly appearing in the window where i am trying to enter my contribution to forum discussion. These ads cover the words I am writing. Clicking away the add gives a second or two reprieve before another add covers the space again. I cannot see the words i am attempting to contribute.

The situation has become unbearable. Just now I abandoned in frustration an attempt to add my thoughts to a discussion This situation has degraded my willingness to participate here.

Sorry to complain, but i expect I am not the only one.

I am accessing using chrome on an android device.

Thats interesting. I do not receive pop-up ads and my ad blocker has not alerted me to any.

We use Firefox and have several ad blockers up. So far, don't see any ads what so ever (the ad blockers do show they are eliminating things when on CF).

Odd, I don't have ad blockers and it's fine on my mobile with Safari, and it's fine on the computer with Firefox. I do have problems with other sites loading, but not CF.

Re: Contributing to CF has become unbearable

I get the same pop-ups like Sparx, the ads cover bottom 1/3 of the screen and appear every few seconds if I cancel them. I am using safari on iPhone.

Tetepare - which settings have you activated to avoid seeing them in safari?

I'm using chrome also, no pop up on this site. most likely you have some malware on your computer/phone.

Re: Contributing to CF has become unbearable

Using Chrome. So far no pop ups. However, i encountered the same problem when accessing CF with my Samsung Tablet. Old one though... When switching from mobile to desktop mode, popups stopped. Not sure what s going on here...

Beside that, many Youtubers seem to need more money, as many of the Chanels i subscribed having lots of adds now.

Only way to get rid of that: Unsubscribed them... sad, but 14 Minutes of film interupted 4 times is a no go...

Are you using the web-based site, for the mobile version designed for Android phones. I am using an Android phone, on Chrome, with no ad blocker. I am on the mobile site. The pop-up ads I see are to the side of the content and do not get in the way of my reading or posting.

The mobile version of the site is designed for phones and tablets, and puts the ads out of the way. When you access the Maine website version, it attempts to press it to fit a Mobile screen, but it's not designed reviewing that way.

Re: Contributing to CF has become unbearable

On an iPhone, I use an ad blocker app. It only cost a few dollars. The forum is pretty much unbearable without one, though I’m sure the advertisers that fund it would disagree.
