Daughter's First Surfboard

54" Catch Surf Beater. She can stand up on my paddleboard so I'm just getting her comfy on it now. I bought it in the states, flew back to Mexico this afternoon, and we went out for a bit. Customs raised some eyebrows but otherwise it was easy to get it into the country.

Her with her new "present".

Heading out to the ankle high break to get her used to it.

Scooting her along.

Priceless pictures and memories. I'll bet she gets special treatment from the locals. They adore blond kids down there, thinking they are angels.

I hope to be sailing to SF this summer, some time. Then on to HI, and so on.

Nope. Gotta finish the refit, then a short shakedown in the islands. Intend to depart in July or August, run down to Cali, then spend until Nov. hanging around the California coast (old stomping grounds for me).

Yes. We will spend a couple of seasons doing Mexico, to see how the kids like it, before heading further afield. We have family just outside Guaymas, expats from the Arizona branch of the family. Good base of operations for us, park the boat in San Carlos for hurricane season and head inland in our Jeep. My parents already do this with their boat.

Will you guys be heading west by then? Or perhaps Panama?

She looks cute as a button. You in those shorts, however, could rent yourself out as a channel marker...
