I am on my boat and coming back to Salisbury on Friday. I would love to sail on the lake! My big boat is 5 hours away in Oriental and my small boat is too wet for this time of year!

Carl (small guy, long graying blond hair) is trouble, avoid him. Carl (C.J. the BIG guy with long graying dark hair) is a good guy.

I would love to talk about anything that will improve that mill site, or boating, or motorcycles......ha ha

I tried making a hammock from scratch one time. I diverted the project to a small clothing hammock for my boat. I'd starve trying to sell hand tied nets, it is so slow. I'd also go blind. But it can be done, using a little board for a gauge, its width twice the width of one side of the square mesh, and sanded very smooth. There are Youtube videos on how to do it.

Hand tied nets tend to be family heirlooms, but today, everybody fishes with mono nets made from webbing. The older nets were Sea Island cotton, and had to be dipped in preservative, and had to be carefully dried after each use. The Memphis net and twine catalog describes nets made clear back in biblical times. Most of the New Testament nets were trammel nets, but they used cast nets too back then.

The sport fishermen look down their noses at nets, but it is a fast way to put fish on the table.

    Have a good one, Tom

I really don't like being a "fish". Please just call me Boy with a hard "B".

Hey Tropical, I see you are from North Carolina. Do you have any suggestions on how I can get started sailing in this state? and how did you get started? Thanks

Thanks Daryl. I have a lot of Brazilian and Cuban jazz influences which is very much what Sinatra and others of his era were playing with. Of course there's all the the stuff our generation has been influenced by in there too and sometimes I just like to play the blues though right now I'm focusing on this jazz project.

    Hi Daryl,
Sorry I haven't gotten back to until now! I never really sign in here. Anyway, if you are still interested in the boat shoot me an e-mail and we can discuss further.

sorry for the weird e-mail format. It won't let me post an e-mail address in this message.

    Thanks,
    Rich
