    Hi Bobconnie,
I am in Louisiana now planning a trip down to isla mujeres... thinking of leaving in March. Letting a Northern blow through then following in behind. Planning on staying west to hit the little eddie and using that current to help us south then heading into Isla... Any advice since I see that you have done this trip a few times.

Hi Bob and Connie, My name is Brian Smith and I am writing to you from Minnesota, I see you live in Montegut LA...I used to live in Montegut myself some years back. I have been looking for a sailboat to sail around the great loop from duluth MN to chicago and the take the river system and eventually end up near Mobile AL..and I was hoping to 1 day motor my way up to Montegut and visit some friends and family I still have there. Anyway, im curious to know what kind of boat you have and hear some of your stories..I am so glad to hear of some cruisers from Down the bayou...thats great..please respond and lets chat...hope soon...thanks alot, Sincerely, Brian from Minnesota

    Hello Bob and Connie!

It looks like we're in the same state and I saw that you have considerable experience sailing the West Coast. I have none what so ever, only Atlantic and Gulf sailing. But I find myself in the position of needed to make the sail from Panama to Seattle, probably via Hawaii. Is there any chance you guys might be able to speak with me on the matter?

    Thanks,
    Brennan

    Bob & Connie,
Saw a post you put up last year about water coils in your Dickenson stove. I have a Dickenson Pacific just now being replaced & rebuilt. Also have a water coil that was never installed in it, but looks exactly like the 2-coil shown on Dickenson web site.

Not sure how or where it should be installed in the stove. Above the burner or above/around the empty space surrounding the oven?

Aslo, will soldered fittings hold up to the heat to connect it with the rest of the plumbing.

Thanks much if you can help me out with this.

G'morining bobconnie. I joined this site so i'd be able to ask you a question regarding a response you gave to a query about a Yamaha 2 hp engine. I just bought my first boat (s) and am looking for a Yamaha 2hp 2 stroke engine for my Trinka dinghy. There are none in my area that I can find and I'm wondering if you might be able to point me toward one in your neck of the woods. I'll be using the Trinka for a Catalina 22 and both will be living in St. Thomas USVI, where my brother lives. I'm brand new to this sport / hobby. Many thanks for any information you can provide. Cheers, Kathryn
