Sail a cat to weather in 18knots? Love to. Double-digit boats speeds are very likely. At least as fun as a monohull, IMHO. Of course, both pictures were in protected waters; Up wind in 18 knots would not be much fun most 34' boats.

And why do folks have to get defensive? The OP was just funning us. Every design has its compromises. I don't even like that particular cat design, but the video shows that it reaches very well and has a fun cockpit for a boat that size.

I think you mean they don't lean. Their owners are rational, logical, unbiased and don't lean either way. With that level of rational, logical thought processes it's no wonder they chose a multihull, it's the only logical choice.

Why on earth would any one want to go slower dragging their toe rail through the water at some inconvenient angle?
