I came across this the other day and thought it was a beautiful concept. It is a mild detour from the classic sailcat style. I'm undecided if a similar setup could work in a size a bit less than leviathan.

Not really much else to say...thought some of you might enjoy the peek.

I think Prout are doing something similar.Im thinking of selling my soul AND ass just to get afloat, but times have changed and buyers arnt what they used to be.

At first glance, and thanks to the name, I though the whole glass deck might be solar cells...silly me. There's nothing green about this thing.

Sorry, but I can't imagine trying to handle mooring lines from those glass-covered, steeply curved side-decks forward. Although I guess only the paid help would have to worry about that.

Yes 56 feet, but interestingly it is well above the now standard LOA/BOA ratios below 2:1; essentially it is 3:1. Should make some people rethink whether beam in excess of 50 % of the LOA is necessary for stability, or largely in order to increase bridgedeck accomodation.

I am still a proponent of ratios of 2:1 or higher; the reduced area between the hulls reduces slamming (or the required bridgedeck clearance), improves tacking, tracking and fore/aft stability (to reduce the risk of pitchpoling, which I see as a much greater risk in a properly sailed cat running before a storm, than capsize). To me it makes sense to keep the CG down, the CE of the sailplan down and then to reduce the beam.

Nice sleek design but I think they forgot a few things....

Would you sit outside on deck chairs? Are there tie downs on the deck to keep your chairs from being blown overboard?

Do they make splinter proof swim suits for sliding down the transom? Do you get back aboard with your Lifesling?

I guess you can forget going ashore when at anchor because there is nothing to put your dink over the side.

Can the deckchairs be rearranged?

I would think those transoms open up to allow toys to be dispensed on one side, and a grand staircase on the other. Can you just imagine Scarlett O'hara making an entrance?

To me it looks like a design without recognition of function. Can you imagine that thing in bad weather.

It would also be rather like sitting in a greenhouse.

As the owner you would not be bothered about details such as how you secure alongside - just as well as access looks like the pits.

It looks absolutely gorgeous, make no mistake, but even if I had the money I wouldn't buy one. It's a floating hotel, and will need a crew to sail her. Give me a forty footer set up for single handing, and one other crew for company and I'll be a happy man.

If you look at the close-up cockpit view you can see that the glass (or whatever) panels are intermittent with solar panals..."

Well I suppose along with my soul I could toss my ass in as well. We could go as a package deal and see if that'd get us on.
