Sailing is mostly about showing up.

Best of luck in the meantime. Getting out of town is indeed the hardest part of any trip.

We are going south. Taking the Erie canal off the great lakes and down the east coast. We will head to Florida and then around the Caribean.

Hey Irwin.

When you reach Florida. Keep your eyes and ears open on the weather reports.

Don't want to catch yourself with your pants down, "if" a hurricane approaches the US?

Hey IrwinSailor:

I might have asked you this before, but did you need any info on the canal? We still have our guide books for that area and will not be using them again. One time motoring through the Canal was good enough for us. (Yawn.... ha ha ha)

Oh, and I think I said this before, but Wardell's boat yard is the way to go for a cheap un-stepping. Then, you can re-step yourself in the Husdson at Castle Hill Yacht Club. $40 to use the crane. Can't beat that!

When will you be heading South? This fall, or earlier?

Hey Sean.

What kinds of guide books do you have on hand? Are they all "east coast"?

Hey CaptainK.

Yes... we only have books that relate to the East Coast right now. Cruising Guide to Maine Coast, Ebassy Guides for NY, etc...

I was never much a lobster fan. But, something served with hot dripping butter. Just makes the northeastern US rather appetizing.
